DarcyJones to GWS, he did his knee in draft year, ironically he went pick 21 in 2022. Two years later and he looks to be a real find, still moves very well too.
It is definitely a risk. In fact, if you have two similar ranked players you will side against Hotton. If you think he can be a...

Agree Draper our best option against the likes of Moore/Andrews - if the 200cm mobile Cox can split ruck duties with Draper then 2MP may well find himself on the outer…

My thought with Draper at FF (and I don’t think it’s an uncommon thought) is he provides a physical marking target close to goals in the way the other forwards don’t.
Even if he’s not taking marks he’s still crashing packs, bringing the ball to ground and negating the opposition’s biggest key...
Hi all,
Bulldogs and Tigers completed trade.
Richmond receive 2025 future 1st and 3rd
Bulldogs receive 26, 27 and future 4th (which should be pick 1 round 4)
The bulldogs have lost smith, macrae and Daniel this offseason.
They did gain Kennedy. They have aging all Australians in bontempelli and...
The bolded goes against basically half of your points, I agree that Berry and Davis would be great
Logue was too good for WAFL but we didn't have a spot for him, thats why he was relevant, so was Meek. Both relevant because its the same scenario if we spend too much capital on KPF/Rucks at this...
From your post,
- Simpson is small forward and Banfield is a medium forward, neither likely best 22. And we're already adding Bolton. Next year I understand we have an NGA small forward coming through.
- neither Reidy or Jones look as anything but longshots, and Jones almost certainly won't be...
The only way you'd end up with an 80+ game (or 6-7 year player) player toiling on a list is they've been pushed out of a best 22, with Dalhaus at Geelong being another recent example (and maybe Jones at Demons, seeing he retired on the eve of finals). The other would be potentially a ruck depth...
Addressing each point
Small or medium forwards, HBF, anyone with elite skills, a winger, an inside-out midfielder. All of those ahead of KPP (Both ends) for mine.
Its not just drafting for next year, its drafting for a player that will actually have a spot in the team within the next 3-5...
Which is the area of need you are seeing in our list that we get to address with our second pick?
I don't think you draft for next year. Development time is normal. Jones limited games was due to injury wasn't it?
You are are stating we are well stocked with KPF/ruck options, and I'm also keen...
Now obviously it more realistically might be a combo of Berry/Hotton and Hannarford.
But the objective is simple.. we simply need fast connecting players on half forward line.
The side looks much better suited for modern game from my best 22 posted.

This is the perfect scenario.
I think power as been alluding to it. And by all reports we went hard for pick 13.
Brad Johnson made a comment in his list analysis of bulldogs on SEN that he thinks our biggest need is a shai Bolton type.
The combo of Hotton and Berry would be magic.

Top Talent based on year turned 18.
2011 to 2012 - 4 Best 22 players
2013 and 2014 - 8 (4 A grade, 4 Role/Depth) Players
2015 to 2016 - 0 players.
2017 to 2018 - 6 players (5 x 1st Rd draft picks, 1 rookie listed, 2 A grade, 4 best 22)
2019 to 2020 - 4 players ( 1 A-grade, 1 role...
You're missing the obvious part, the player we pick won't be ready for years and if he is any good then he will move on because we don't have a b22 spot for them, I'm not exactly stoked on wasting a first or 2nd round pick on developing someone who will likely leave.
We already have Voss and...
The end of last season being a debacle was in large degree the result of Treacy, Darcy and Pearce being injured.
Those injuries all impacted our KPF situation.
Treacy very directly, but also we lost his handy ability to do some ruckwork in support of Jackson
Darcy cost us big time with Jackson...
You don't think trading Brodie would be in our best interests?
You think Bolton wasn't a player they couldn't conceive of trading?
It happens. Much of what it takes is a player saying 'I want to be traded'. Oh, and also, 'homesick'.
The rest is negotiating the price.
We have Voss, the other three are rucks. Jones maybe 50/50 but I haven’t seen much of him.
We need a developing KPF this draft or we are playing Cox as a forward / going with 2 talls & Sturt at times.
We could easily use our 3rd pick for this but if Gerreyn is best available by a margin, just...
But the world where we think trading away any of them 3 is in our best interests is practically inconceivable. Just coz we can find a few exceptions every year where long-term signed players are traded away doesn't mean we go silly and treat every player signed long-term as a flight risk...

I think our list situation is ideal for the position Gerreyn would address:
Taberner, Kuek both gone.
Reidy on a 1 year deal
Knobel delisted hoping to put him on the Rookie List, and now a career long FA. Not currently ready for WAFL let alone AFL.
Odin barely played a game so far.
Darcy...

...the contrary, they could also take THREE first-round picks into this year’s draft - currently 15, 16 and 21. Tom Green, Finn Callaghan, DarcyJones and Aaron Cadman look closer than ever to taking their game to the next level. Subsequently, their ceiling is very high, but it remains an...
