Toast The Official Bailey Banfield Appreciation Thread

It appeared that Freddie was already running at training today, so I have no reason to doubt that it is very minor (or management). I expect him to be available round one.

Game Day Preseason Game 1 vs Harley Reid & Mates

They all played ok but if you rated them it would be JOM, Raz then Brodie for mine. JOM just reminded us that he is a class above the other two especially when delivering the ball to the forwards (the forwards will want him in the 22) great body use and clean skills. JOM was also a reasonable...

    Training Preseason 2024

Good to hear, that lack of pressure was very evident last year and was a real contributor to our poor starts. I haven’t been able to make it down this year but I like to hear that we have kept the teams even (and have the talent and availability to do that). Down at Eagleland they have kept it...

    2nds Peel Thunder 2024 Season

Hmm, not many project players this year that could play reserves. Knobel has to be given league games this year.

Just the new toy syndrome, training watchers probably reporting that he is the fastest player they have ever seen!

List Mgmt. 2024 List Management thread - Trade Targets

Love Sturt's goal kicking ability (kicking 50 is easy for him) and he would be a great option, but unless he gets into match sim from this week he will remain way behind the rest of the options sadly.

    Training Preseason 2024

Yes agreed. Whilst we all want sensational skills on display in the match sims that could also be an example of a general lack of pressure all over the ground. I would prefer that the match sims have great pressure, But if the skills without pressure are poor, I would have some concerns.

List Mgmt. 2024 List Management thread - Trade Targets

Ha, I enjoyed your conservative thoughts. Your first two points (first one will happen, second possible but unlikely for round one) but in relation to point three, is selecting Erasmus over Sturt a conservative move? I don't think so.

I would also like to see some sort of statement but understand that most clubs tend to avoid talking about baseless rumours because if you engage the next story goes along the lines "they protest too much so it must be true". At some point you must respond but I am sure they are thinking if it...

I like what Young brings but quick? I have seen him dishing himself about his lack of leg speed

Good team, Wagner would be stiff to miss out but that's called depth. Personally, I have Fyfe and Erasmus ahead of O'Driscoll at the moment.

Toast Welcome to Fremantle Neil Erasmus (pick 10 2021 AFL Draft)

Never had your concern, having watched training he is a running machine. He might not be lightning but far from slow and with his natural fitness will find a lot of the ball. We need more footy players with his aggressive nature at the ball as well. Also your concern about his defensive side...

    Women's Footy AFLW season 2023 - Season 8

Fremantle is always easy picking once they want a player. I guess the only saving grace is that there will be as little as 1 change to the squad in the draft (nothing but low picks anyhow). Hopefully the three players are worth it and have a significant impact on the team.

Probably losing all early picks to bring in those two players (though losing Hyde may help)

    Training Preseason 2024

There is no doubt that we are a quiet team with very little mongrel, I hope Tracey brings it even more this year because we sure as hell need it from more players.

Nah, think I will keep it going to trigger a few on here, just got to work out if I will refer to hm as Sharpe, Sharpy or blunt.

And is a good kick for goal (which makes me think the kicking is very fixable).

Toast Welcome To Freo Ollie Murphy (pick 41 2023 AFL Draft)

Certainly Freddy spent some time on the wing last year and was handy but with Milky, Sharp, O’Driscoll, Aish, Johnson and Chapman vying for the wing positions I don’t think Freddy will spend much time out of the forward line next year. Make no mistake, Freo think Sharp is a real option for this...

He was an unbelievably smart mark even as a teenager in the seniors at WAFL. He is building his body as key forwards do and will get better and better, definitely has footy smarts- want!

And will love to have the opportunity. I believe he can apply as much pressure which is exciting but his ability to impact the scoreboard like Schultz is unknown and unlikely.

    2023 young talent time

Yeah AOD should not be recruited just because of family ties, but absolutely should be considered with our latter picks because he has genuine speed and loves a goal, sounds like a good fit to me.

Yeah Hetherington is definitely a project player but already takes a great pack mark and mobile in the ruck. So much more to work with than Wielstra.
