Game Day Round 5 - Western Bulldogs v Essendon, Marvel Stadium, Friday 12/4/24, 7.40pm AEST

    I don't think Jakey's a fan of Libba's.

    NOT leather poisoning !!

    VFL Footscray v Essendon

I have to agree, I've seen alot of players over the last 2/3 years in our squad that have me scrathing my head.

    VFL Footscray v Essendon

This definiely doesn't help, the fact we have so many non listed players in the one team also creates a bit of selfish play as they are all trying to impress.

    VFL Footscray v Essendon

Even though Caddy hasn't had much of the footy, the way he attacks the contest should embarrass Weideman.

    VFL Footscray v Essendon

I wasn't sure if Archie Roberts was quite ready but after the first half showing I think he's not too far off it. He has some natural aggression and willingness runs hard both ways.

    VFL Footscray v Essendon

    Archie Roberts impressive 5 minutes.

AFL Player #13: Nik Cox 🦄 - Skipper called him 'the Unicorn' in an interview (confirmed!)

Get him a tape of Mac Andrews game from the GCS V GWS on Sunday and watch how he goes about it, they would roughly be around the same height and weight. If he can't at a minimum be competitive then play someone/anyone that will be. I hope for his sake that he can get back to his first year...

VFL Round 2: Sandringham vs Essendon, Trevor Barker Oval, Sunday 31/03/24, 2:05 (Ch 7)

Jaydon will need a good 12 months and is just finding his way at VFL level but Alwyn had a big opportunity to put his name up for selection but he was really dissappointing. Menzie stays in the team on that showing, Roberts was the only one that showed glimpses but he's a little way off too.

    AFL Player #47: Jye Menzie

The VFL game will be a good watch today. Really looking forward to see what Davey x 2, Roberts & Caddy can bring and to see how far/close they off from the next step.

Oppo Camp Non-Essendon Football Thread XVII

The umpiring so far this round has been appalling !! While I'm on this how have some of the goal umpire reviews been of late ?? Dead set the one late in the PA v Melb game, Stevie Wonder would have seen it hit the post but his soft call was goal ??

AFL Player #37: Nic Martin - Retains Beerfish as that's my boy sponsor - 14/3

Full credit to him for not dropping his head or going into his shell because a lot of players would have dropped their bundle after his 1st Q blunders, that tells me has beleif in his own ability. I'd still have him on a wing though...
  13. C

    AFL Player #19: Nick Hind

He had more of an influence in 1 Quarter than Menzie did in 4. Sub role suits him to a T, he can take the game on and his energy gives us a huge lift.

Autopsy AFL 2024 Round 3 - Port v Demons Sat March 30th 7:30pm AEDT (AO)

It's genuinely turning me off footy, the umpiring is so inconsistant and frustrates the f@#k out of me. I had to turn the North v Carlton game off yesterday, the umpiring was appalling !!!

Autopsy AFL 2024 Round 3 - Port v Demons Sat March 30th 7:30pm AEDT (AO)

1000% I couldn't beleive the run they got last week, if that was my team I would have been filthy !

Autopsy AFL 2024 Round 3 - Port v Demons Sat March 30th 7:30pm AEDT (AO)

What is it with these goal umpires and reviews ?? That last one Stevie Wonder could see it hit the post...

    AFL Player #23: Harrison Jones

You don't lose your ability but you do lose confidence. I have no doubt that we have a serious player on our hands, I've never doubted his work rate just needs to keep clunking those marks and his confidence will sky rocket.

Preview Round 4: Essendon vs Port Adelaide, Adelaide Oval, Friday 5/04/24 @ 8:10 PM

Can't keep carrying Menzie too, depending on VFL form tomorrow I'd go with any small that has defensive pressure. Ins: Setterfield Davey Ridley Outs: Durham Menzie Laverde

AFL Player # 2: Sam Draper

Would have kicked a great goal but for Langford in the 3rd Q, he has presence and is naturaly aggressive, no fakeness here !!
  21. C

AFL Player #21: Dyson Heppell aka Farnsy

No one can knock his courage, backs into packs without fear. Was very good from 2nd quarter on, I hope he can mantain the type of form.
  22. C

AFL Player #37: Nic Martin - Retains Beerfish as that's my boy sponsor - 14/3

Yes.I think he and Kelly need to swap roles. We need his goals/assists and Kelly gives us nothing offessively but would be more suited down back.
  23. C

AFL Player # 1: Andrew "Pidge" McGrath (Vice-Captain)

Best game I've seen him play in a while, I've been his biggest critic but credit where credit is due, 3 votes today. His ball use was excellent !
  24. C

AFL Player #37: Nic Martin - Retains Beerfish as that's my boy sponsor - 14/3

I wouldn't have in the votes today, way too many turnovers and poor decisions with ball in hand. Would much rather him getting his possessions wing/forward, he's costing us a 2/3 goals a game trying to drill the ball through his teammates chest.

Peter Wright contact with Harry Cunningham: Pleads Guilty and Receives 4 Week Suspension

That was a common sense call and the right one in my opinion, 4 weeks for this is a joke. I can't wait for the next suspension for a football act to see the melts in here. Going for a mark like Chol's will be the next action to be santioned ??
  26. C

AFL Player #20: Peter "Litre" Wright 🏅 - Pleads guilty at tribunal, 4 week suspension - 26/3

100% Yoda, there will be alot of players missing games if this is the benchmark.. Surely there's room for accidental contact and whilst I'm on this is there provision for lenient sentences due to a player having a good record anymore ?

Peter Wright contact with Harry Cunningham: Pleads Guilty and Receives 4 Week Suspension

Good stuff Nostradamus, how did you come to that conclusion, are you a body language expert ?? Wright realises at the death that he's not going to beat Cunningham to the ball and tries to minimize the damage how you see it any differently is beyond me, yes he will be suspended only because...
  28. C

Peter Wright contact with Harry Cunningham: Pleads Guilty and Receives 4 Week Suspension

Yes, the tribunal are well known as being consistant and 100% right all of the time, also it's obvious guys in the media like Leigh Matthews or Matthew Lloyd have no mirrors in their homes either...what a load of crock.
  29. C

Peter Wright contact with Harry Cunningham: Pleads Guilty and Receives 4 Week Suspension

Yes Wright is known as a dirty malicious thug, whilst Maynard.... nothing to see here, please give yourself an uppercut.

AFL Player #37: Nic Martin - Retains Beerfish as that's my boy sponsor - 14/3

Redman, Hind, McGrath and Martin all like to take the game on so it does leave you exposed on turnovers. We need more defenders whose sole role is to defend, I think only one of those at one time should be that all out attack style of player out of defence. Also you really need your wingmen to...
