Award-winning sarcasm; gold :trophy:.
I thought there were two main factors that yielded the win:
--- our young-but-keen defence pushed Port wide and under pressure, forcing several errors that they made.
--- Worrell/Butts/Michalanney/Keane were all prepared to leave their man to...
I'm not sure what you mean by "bad" there, jenny.
For affability/geniality/ nice-bloke-ness/good company I think I'd prefer to have a bbq and a few drinks with Nicks. Hinkley's a bit dour for me; needs a personality transfusion.
For selections policy and win-loss record, Hinkley 59.5%, Nicks...
I liked your (Crows I Am) comments on Rachele and I'm glad he's ours.
Plenty of upside and could be elite in 3-4 years when he matures.
I gotta disagree.
Htb is a 100% turnover.
Fast kick and hope is a 50-50 chance, since we might retain possession.
Sometimes, speedy moving the ball on is...
Interesting discussion re: Cook:
BUT
BUT
Kane, 4 possessions total on Thursday. FOUR.
According to NS he's averaging just under 7 disposals.
Credit for the mark and goal, but I thought he was easily our worst player vs. PA.
Fwiw, I just can't see what 1990crow sees. Serious question --- what...
Cook:
Has something
+
Missing something
============
TOTAL: zero.
Another poster talked about Cook's "heatmaps".
His 4 possessions vs. Port would create a lukewarmmap.
Good point :thumbsupv1: .
It means he hasn't developed that 360-degree-awareness knack, but that should come with time and games.
It reminds me of Jenkins who had a basketball background.
Josh was often criticised (justifiably) for his lack of tackling.
Instead of rushing the ball-carrier he...
Hang on.
They're 5-3 with 113% and screaming for Coaches' sackings?
If I could keep our side and the rest of our draw, I'd take 5-3 even with a loss to Port
in a heartbeat.
On-field, yes.
"Playing"? Not so sure  .
EDIT: according to FOX, Wines had 14 CONTESTED possessions  .
Looks like my sarcasm is unwarranted but, you know, Wines :poov1:.
After Tex potted that goal on the run, I thought: "McHenry's goal".
Surprised the helloutta me too.
Who knows?
It showed anticipation and awareness I didn't think he had, either  .
He also got on his bike and skitched forward to be on the end of the kickout-Himmelberg-Rankine...
Rachele has X-factor, something special, for sure
eg TWICE in 2 games he's handballed to advantage between an opponent's legs with phenomenal skill.
One resulted in a Rankine goal after Rachele fetched his own handball and dished off.
The other on Thursday night dribbled about 15m to a...
The standout underperformer for the game was Cook --- 4 disposals, 2 marks and a goal.
That's hard to do in a team containing McHenry and Sholl , but credit where due, Sholl was a contributor on the night.
Much has been said about McHenry's shepherd/block for Tex and our 3rd goal...
+
I watched the game again last night.
The comparison of EH to Sholl is valid. Like Sholl, when he has time and space, EH is useful eg when he chest-marked a very good kickout in space, kicked to Rankine then the Ned goal. I find it hard to praise him for doing what he should have.
However...
I get what you're saying, but there are now FOUR Umpires out there with none of them watching the ball carrier??
Yeah, that drives me crazy .
Also:
Player takes possession, raises his arms, gets tackled, sees he has no easy handball, falls to ground, NO htb, bounce.
If he has time to raise...
After the bounce from Fog's second goal, JHF receives a handball just forward of the centre circle:
after which he takes 14 steps at full pace (I'd estimate 23m conservatively) before he blasts away:
Well more than 15m., no free.
There's a worse one of his on the near wing later but I...
I respect your opinion and have the luxury of being able to watch the afl.com replay tonight in my NSW Motel.
My reaction to last night's game is that the boys won in spite of Nicks' defensive chip-chip instructions.
When they took the game on, ran hard, overlapped and moved the ball quickly...
Leadership.
Tries hard.
Most importantly, experience ... :rolleyes::rolleyes::drunk::drunk:
I love that they played Rozee and I do mean LOVE .
In fact, I've been giving out  emojis like candy in this thread but it's only because I LOVE when we beat the ferals.
And I do...
P.S. This turned out to be longer than I expected. If you do not like long posts because they are long, please do not read on.
Yes; male ==> female, female ==> male.
All domestic violence.
As far as I understood it, the moment of silence pre-game was about ending domestic violence and to pay...
A voice of reason:
I'm not 100% about "perfect" and I really don't like Nicks, but I can see why Curtin was subbed out.
No harm/damage done.
Curtin looked very happy in the rooms post-game with his parents and huge 16yo brother.
Yes!
Compare that to last season and the games WE lost from poor goalkicking.
Nice change. Refreshing.
Game-winning.
Our "groove" is when the players decide to go for it onfield, in spite of Nicks, not because of him (I reckon).
Two patches of play:
1) last 8-10 minutes of the first quarter...
