Colts was after the league ?
i watched reserves and half the league, got home and was stunned to find East Perth look like winning, Perth came back though, could be fitness or perhaps the comp is quite even.
Perth looks pretty strong this year even without Yeo
Winning the under 18's is not the be all and end all.
You can come last and have a multitude of players draftees
Vic metro came last this year and Vic country last - last year.
I think the team that finished last this year had the most players drafted?
They only play 4 games, its not a great...
OK, there are about 50 kids on each colts list, colts teams in the WAFL play either 24 or 26 kids each game, ( i think 26) with an extended interchange bench.
there are 12 teams in the Vic under 18's
there are 10 teams in SA based on the SANFL
Teams don't usually take away 40 kids interstate -...
That was sort of my impression of Hale from afar, a very old tie English type Rugby school and maybe at one stage it was, but last few years very strong footy school, they could also be a strong Rugby school , i really havent looked into that.
I had a feeling if you replied, you would make it personal, i am not sure you have another way.
I think it was you who was proven comprehensively wrong regarding the history of finals and why they were implemented, but when proven wrong disappeared without responding.
Georgiades is a great...
Well yes, but IMO that is not the only consideration, Vic metro finished last this year, Vic country last in 2018.
From my perspective WA under sells itself as a talent pool and on raw numbers is far and away in front of SA.
I think it has the depth to put 2 good teams in.
Great post, and a couple more than what i thought, it seems for WA they pick these players not from the under 18's but mature WAFL players, clubs seem more than happy to speculate on younger Vic boys outside the metro and country teams - perhaps because of the distance factor in relocation...
OK, i was thinking more the individual state under 18 teams (northern states and Tassie) that play each other during the course of the year and getting them a bit confused with the Allies.
My point is - i think the depth of players in WA would enable it to have 2 decent under 18 teams, i would...

Think it was 16 under 18's.
If a second team dilutes the talent, why bother with 2 Vic teams and why not combine the TAS, NSW, ACT, QLD and NT team into one.
A second team would increase the talent options not dilute it...
OK, i am on my hobby horse again.
!6(?) WA boys drafted from the under 18 winning team, but apparently no one good enough outside that team to be drafted, yet 4/5 Vic boys from outside the Met and country teams good enough ?.
WA is the second largest market for AF in the WORLD.
It has double...
Hale is usually stronger than Wesley in the last 5/6 years i have been paying attention.
Every school bar Trinity has the advantage of country boarders, Trinity may put up a couple of indigenous kids on scholarships, but they rely on city kids, they do come from as far away as Mandurah and...
Nepotism, pure and simple, in football like every industry.
Some deliberate and some no doubt unintentional and maybe even subconscious.
Players from some schools and some families get an easier ride than others and are preferred although they have inferior stats.
Also some have been in the...
Very keen on Luke Jackson here in the West, its all 6PR sports commentators talk about, looks like he may go to GWS though.
A 199 cm ruckman seems a better prospect than the number 1 Vic boy Rowell who stands at 178 cm, i do get that height should not be a real determinant, but surely their are...
I was watching junior tennis today at Cottesloe, the National juniors, and in the 14 and under boys there was a kid winning his game pretty easy, he was what you you would call in footy terms a manchild, looked physically developed like a 16 year old boy or even older but was not particularly...
Sounds like you are still upset about being proven wrong about the VFL/AFL and the history of the finals series, don't sweat it big fella we are all wrong sometimes.
This is a comment driven board and FWIW he is a 5'10" inside midfielder, for all i know he may be the next Sam Mitchell but in...
I wouldnt have a clue, but he is not big and in the days of big bodied inside midfielders which apparently he is, it seems an odd choice by many for number 1, i haven't seen him play, but he must be good.
Gives hope to under 6 footers as well.
Not sure who you are talking about but Matt Rowell(?) is a Collingwood 6 footer, which means he is about 5'10" as well. (178cm).
Some players who have footy smarts just get to where the ball is quicker despite far slower in pace or beep tests or yo yo tests or whatever.
Most clubs would be the same, there is very little between them, a couple of standouts and then the mob.
All this testing doesn't mean a lot IMO, i know quite a few of those players and some don't have great footy smarts or good kicks etc, not saying they are bad players but hopefully they are...
In this case i would agree with you.
Pretty good kick on either foot, but another skill that's hard to pick up as you age, apparently his dad when having kick to kick made him use both feet.
I agree with all those points.
My belief is more kudos should be given to the ladder leader over the H&A, IMO that seems a fairer system and also allows for a system where cubs can achieve what would be a highly prized double for the year.
Anyway i realise i am off tangent...........
No disrespect, but you have been conditioned to accept the finals, any WAFL, VFL, AFL fan etc alive has never known any different, they don't do it in English soccer and they never used to do it here, i am also not suggesting they do away with finals, but i am suggesting more kudos be stowed...
