This is a false statement. Just because it wasn't planned doesn't mean it wasn't a rebuild. Yes, it was forced on the club but the club decided then and there to rebuild the list.

Richmond traded in Taranto and Hopper in 2022. Then were forced into a rebuild a year later despite obviously planning on staying on top. Does this mean that doesn't count?

We went into a draft focus and shedding senior players in 2020. We only went after players from other clubs that were either free agents (and therefore wouldn't cost draft capital), cheap depth at their clubs that wouldn't cost much draft capital (see Wright and Hind) or young enough to be around long term (see Caldwell and Duursma). That screams rebuild to me.
