Paying particular attention to the midfield set up today.

Cox's Ruckwork / taps are bad. The greatest of servants at the club but Father Time is tapping him on the shoulder. Cox is part of the problem in the middle. Not the greatest problem, but plays a part.

Because we are so poor in clearances, from the middle or stoppages, we have all our midfielders trying to lay a helping hand in getting a clearance. Once we have the ball, with all those mids under a wet blanket, there is no spread. No one to ease the tension, no one to set up play.

The above is a blight on the current mids. They are not good enough.

The creation of something good from a stoppage is extremely poor.

Recruiting Department has made a fair few gaffs in the last 4 years in using top picks for the mids.

All of this is prefaced by saying that we don't know how much of our B grade mids will be hidden by Nic Nat, Kerr and Wellingham coming in will do.

Let's name names.

They are not prime ball winners or spreaders. They are the support cast and would be a very good one based around an A grade one. All have gone backwards in the last year. My views on Priddis.... no comment in fear of sparking another riot, bar saying that I have never rated him.

I like what I saw from Sinclair. Offered far more than the Rag Doll Scarecrow that Lycett was. I like his hunger.

And I have a lot of time for both Sheppard and Cripps, great potential.

The halfback line has been rotting for a long time. Cannot have Hurn and Selwood, slow turning players in a the same time. I'd rather try mcGinnity in and Selwood out.

Need to find a way to get more out of Josh Hill. His posessions are gold, just doesn't get enough.

After getting flogged by Freo in the midfield last week, was expecting them to breathe fire today. I assumed wrong.

Our midfield is on notice... B grade at best.
