  • Bernie Vince has left Adelaide to go to Melbourne, with Adelaide expecting the Demons second round compensation pick in return (pick #23).
  • Melbourne has traded picks 2, 20 and 72 in exchange for the Giants Dom Tyson, pick 9 and pick 53
  • James Podsiadly has found a new home at Adelaide who pick up the delisted former Cat for free.
  • Nick Dal Santo has wandered from Moorabin to Arden Street as a free agent. The Saints will receive a compensation pick
  • Shane Mumford is now formerly a Giant, with the Swans receiving the Giants 3rd round pick (currently 35)
  • Simon Black has retired from the Lions.
  • Delisted Cat, Josh Hunt has joined the Giants.
  • Delisted Paul Chapman will make his way to the Bombers.

The AFL has announced its compensation picks for this years draft, with Hawthorn receiving pick #19 for the loss of LAnce Franklin. Hawthorn is not amused. “We understand there are rules around free agency compensation, however we believe it is inequitable that compensation is linked to ladder position,” Hawks chief executive Stuart Fox said in a statement on hawthornfc.com.au.

  • Collingwood – Round 1 compensation pick for loss of Dale Thomas.
  • Hawthorn – Round 1 compensation pick for loss of Lance Franklin.
  • Melbourne – Round 2 compensation pick, loss of Colin Sylvia.
  • St Kilda – Round 2 compensation pick, loss of Nick Dal Santo.
  • Carlton – No compensation after net result of Dale Thomas coming in as a free agent and Eddie Betts departing as a free agent
  • Richmond – No compensation for loss of Matty White.
  • Hawthorn – No compensation for loss of Xavier Ellis.
