Most Improved team - Port. Very strong for a 5th placed team. Would've made top 4 if not for flat patch during the middle.
Most Disappointing team - Gold Coast. Expected them to make the 8 and they really should have. Went to water when GAJ got injured. Should be 5-8 team.

Coach: Paul Roos. Managed to attract soccer fans to the game with many of Melbourne's goal-tallies mirroring Melbourne Victory's. Also doubled his teams win total.

Brownlow: Selwood. Who can miss all of those free kicks?

Most improved: Luke Breust. Went from barely being able to hit the side of a barn in 2013, to one of the most accurate shots at goal in history.

Expected more: The entire West Coast team. What a pathetic bunch of flat track bullies that team is, when they need to step up and defeat a quality opponent, they go to water every time.

Best Defender: Harry Taylor. One of the few defenders who will actually play the ball rather than the man. The AFL will need to take a long hard look at defensive tactics if they're to see higher scores in 2015, and penalizing defenders such as Alex Rance would be a step in the right direction.

Mid: Ablett and Rockliff

Forward: Buddy, the only true match-winner left in the game.

Most Improved: Gold Coast up until Brent Macaffer wrecking their season.

Disappointing: West Coast. Can't believe I thought they were premiership contenders at the start of the year.

Suns need to be top 6 by the middle of next season or McKenna isn't getting an extension.

I doubt you'd find a single Eagles supporter on this site that thought we would contend for a flag with a new coach, new gameplan and an expected rebuild as the senior players were put out to pasture.

Not sure where you got that idea from.

Easy to say that now. You're forward line was supposedly one of the best ever, you were supposed to have a rock solid defence and a promising midfield. Time and time again you would look brilliant against a weak opponent, yet pitiful against a contender. Most disappointing for mine.

Oh I don't dispute the last bit at all, don't get me wrong. I was just querying on you labelling us 'premiership contenders' at the start of 2014. 2013, yes, but not this year.

Didn't have you as "premiership contenders" but around 5-6. Disappointing season.

Coach of the Year - Clarkson, Roos a close second
Brownlow Medalist - Ablett, well it should be anyway
Most Improved Player from your club - Not sure if Miles counts given it's his first year at the club, if he doesn't, Griffiths or Ellis
Most Improved Player/s from opposition club - Gray, Prestia, Rockliff, Breust, Hartlett, Parker, Gibbs
Best Defender - Taylor
Best Mid - Ablett
Best FF - Franklin
Best Ruckman - Jacobs
Player/s who you felt had sub par years - Swan, Watts, Petrie, Cloke, Dangerfield, Vickery, Dangerfield
Most Improved team - Gold Coast, followed by Port and North. North were arguably better last year, but this year they've managed to finish off sides. Suns have obviously improved, Port have taken an extra step
Most Disappointing team - Until recently, Richmond, overall Carlton, many expected little, but seven wins, no wins against the top four or the big four, only one win against a top eight side and not that many injuries would have been close to worst case scenario
Grand Finalists - Sydney V Hawthorn
Winner - Sydney

Coach of the Year - Clarkson
Brownlow Medalist - Not too fussed this season. All the likely winners fell over on the finish line. Selwood probably will Bradbury it although I havn't really rated his season as much as last years.
Most Improved Player from your club - Lewis. Went from a player on the cusp of A-grade to one of the best mids in the comp. Ceglar also came from nowhere and displaced McEvoy. Don't think anyone saw him improving that much in the space of a few months.

Best Mid - Nathan Fyfe (Player of the year by a mile IMO)
Best FF - Buddy Franklin
Best Ruckman - Sam Jacobs
Player/s who you felt had sub par years - Dane Swan. Dangerfield unfortunately for my SC team. Cloke also an obvious choice for a million dollar player.
Most Improved team - Port first half of the year. Richmond second half. Really like the look of the Doggies midfield have something to work with.
Most Disappointing team - Carlton but I don't think anyone expected much from them.

Best Defender - Cale Hooker
