Strange trade from Melbourne. Obviously looking to move up the draft. I don’t think they’ll have enough for 1, but I wonder if the Roos would be tempted in giving 2 or 3 for 6 & 11.

Taylor Adam went to Swans for pick 33

Last year we paid pick 30 plus our 2023 2nd rounder 28 (ends up early 30’s)

Similar ages and years to play etc etc

Am I missing something or are we crap at trading ?
Last year certainly wasn’t a good period trade wise. Massive overpay for Lobb and struggled with the Dunkley trade.

Hands were tied with Dunkley selecting a shit stain of a club who was at the top of the ladder.

As for Lobb, Darcy wasn't ready and he still isn't. He missed most of the year. Lobb is needed.

Baz isn’t going mate, it’s all bs rumours.

He wants to commit to the dogs long term and we should forget about possible deals Hawthorn are offering bc it’s never going to happen.
Might need to be careful about throwing absolutes around

They now have enough points to match three bids in the top 10.
They may match Graham later in the draft aswell as potentially drafting another player or trading whatever is left over into next year to do it all again.

Next year they already have their own future first aswell as ours and roos end of first rounder.
Issue is, do they have that many list spots available? Remember you can only use as many picks as list spots open on draft night.

Currently only have 5 spots and they will trade out Chol and Hollands for Future picks.
That mean they only get 65, 70 & 73 taken off of them which combine for a grand total of 138 points.

138 points is bloody good, though. It's a winning score 97% of the time.

GCS would have had a 23-0 record this year with those points every week.

Well trades have dropped, GC got F19 for our 18, and 14, 27 & 35 for our 11.

So we could realistically have turned our 10 & 17 into 14, 27, 35, F19 & kept our F1. Interesting times, would want to hope pick 5 is a gun and Croft is bid on before 14.
This actually helps show it was a good trade.
14, 27 and 35 = say Croft, Lual, Random. Plus say F23 and F12 (assuming inevitable bids/compos and same finish).

F23 and F12 unlikely to get you 6(4), and there is a gun 6 this year. We also get it a year earlier.
