Midfield pace ain't the reason we lose a contested scrap at ground level though. How we lose at our one wood sometimes is baffling.

Nah, it’s pretty simple - it’s grossly overrated. Like last week, winning the clearance means nothing if it doesn't result in good forward momentum.
Getting it forward means **** all if your forwards aren’t leading into the right areas & even less when your smalls can’t rove a spill.
Mid speed gives u the extra few seconds in transition from clearance to disposal into the 50 to allow space to be created- also gives better angles.
It ain’t rocket science - but to many get caught up with “we won clearance”! Who ****ing cares if it doesn’t result in good forward entries

Maybe that's symptomatic of a bad system ahead of him hard to tell on tv or just bad personnel up the ground. Or both.

1. Pitto was solid again
2. Harry other than the last kick had a great game.
3. Weitering is hard to pass
4. Newman had one of his better games for the season

Negatives
1. The second efforts of Curnow for such a good player is terrible.
2. Young was horrible, he brings the game to a grinding halt when he marks the ball.
3. Cunningham, Durdin, Fantasia.... those small forward offer nothing, they're basically witches hats at the moment.
4. Kennedy a sub, he is not a high impact player.

McRae dominated the coaching style, bringing the half forward to the contest and not allowing us to win the contested ball. Such a smart game and ruined our contested work.

He played on Walsh this time. Who's not opponent conscious at stoppages. Is a ball watcher bout his only deficiency but someone as fast as daicos hurts that.
