If Geelong weren't gifted those free kicks in front of goal they would have had 3.11 to half time and Freo would be 4-5 goals up. Freo won with rigged umpiring on a hostile ground, it's great credit to the players.

It's not so bad losing the first final anyhow. Gives more finals experience to the young team. iirc Swans lost their first final in 05, they won the GF, in 06 WCE lost theirs and won.
