According to latest dirt sheets, the backstage employee made the joke that Del Rio should clean up his plate due to him being from Mexico. Del Rio heard about it and slapped the bloke down.

Cornette mentioned it in his podcast, and said basically what Del Rio did was spot on and he'd expect a talent to always stand up for themselves when confronted with non-talent weasels being smartarses to them. The difference now is they are employees, and have rights and benefits and all that, whereas in days of yore (even in the WWF), the promoter would have sided with the talent and told the lackey to keep his mouth shut.
Hope Del Rio gave him a good smack anyway.
