"The Game Awards" is just another awards show - I don't consider it to be official and certainly don't think their opinions are any better than anyone else's. Some will disagree, but as an example, The Last of Us Part II winning in 2020 is a bit of a blight on their track record.

I must admit I haven't gone back to play CE since the first few years after release. Both those games you mentioned are absolute bangers! I think for me it was the sheer multiplayer fun of CE and getting around Blood Gulch for countless hours (an all-time map).
Good thread. Started my list in the late 80s which is when I was capable of picking up a joystick. The years are based on PAL or Aus releases.
1987: Super Mario Bros. (honorable mentions: Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!!, The Legend of Zelda) * amazing year *
1988: Wonder Boy in Monster Land * weak...
*non spoiler general thoughts *
Been playing this the past couple of days. It feels very similar to the prior game, which isn't a bad thing at all, and with the world opening up some way into the game, I'm really enjoying it. There is a tonne of dialogue... not sure at this stage if it's too...
They brought in a feature where you can transfer your PS4 save data to the PS5 upgraded game.
Oh and I loved Days Gone. It's one of a few have been keen to get back to on PS5. The res and frame rate improvements they introduced for so many games is brilliant.
And Cyberpunk is def on the list...
I got to the end credits today. By and large, it's a really unique game with some unique mechanics and payoffs in terms of experience. I will admit that a ridiculous number of cutscenes were skipped. A negative was the bloat with regards to narrative. By this I don't mean the plot, which was...
Been playing this the last few days. It's clearly a slow-burn kind of game. I'm about six hours in and not especially enjoying it yet however will stick at it. Opening up access to vehicles will make a difference. Hoping there are better weapons so BTs can be popped off more easily than hurling...
Started playing Returnal a few days ago. The death cycle is pretty unforgiving although I'm a persistent type so it should not be a huge burden. I have the feeling it's really going to get brutal, though. I'm only up to the second environment.
Hey all.
I upgraded my TV recently in the gaming room (and moved the old gaming room TV to the lounge, and gave the old lounge TV to my mum).
The new rig is an 85" Sony Bravia. I thought about getting the full array lighting model in the 85" range however opted for the more budget-friendly...
Just finished playing the RE2 and RE3 remakes as I played the original versions for the first time this year.
RE2 remake is wicked. I only have a couple of issues with it but nothing that ruins the experience at all. RE3 remake is a bit different. Didn't enjoy it a whole lot - too scripted and...
Yeah first time basically. I bought a bunch of them for my collection and went through a phase before Elden Ring came out.
The GameCube has a great little library.
I've played 22 games so far this year:
Resident Evil 2 (PS1) - finished
Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater (PS2) - finished
Resident Evil 4 (GCN) - finished
The Lord of the Rings, the Two Towers (GCN)
Disney Pixar Finding Nemo (GCN) - finished
The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker (GCN) - finished...
I'm not firm against remakes but there needs to be a decent uplift in visual quality along with some expansion of/to the gameplay - I'm not seeing that so far in the trailers (and besides, the remastered version is more than adequate visually).
Will hold out for a look at the final product upon...
Yeah, I’ve mixed memories of Zaka and the recency effect affects my sentiment to a degree, but there’s no point sinking the boots in as he departs. I appreciate the good stuff he gave us and wish him all the best.
Long may his collection of sports caps grow.
Dogs undeserving, particularly after that final vs. Brisbane. Dees deserve to win by default. Also hope Hibberd gets a medal around his neck as he always battled hard for us.
I’m definitely not watching it then, lol. Man, it’s going to be hard to avoid mini spoilers over the next 6 months or however long it takes to come out.
Bulldogs holding Essendon then too. And this is literally from your own picture. And before you say it, no, they’re both not holding each other. Our guy’s left hand fingers are outstretched.
Yeah I blame the umps more than Cody. His under-the-arm free involving Draper was definitely cheating but it’s the umps who enable(d) it. At the same time I think we move on and hope the boys become even better so that these things have less of an impact on the end result. There is literally...
