The sacfl need to get a move on and give an indication of where they want footy to head in this region. 2 years into the review and still no answers. I dont think anyone wants to see this drag out into a 3rd year.
The mid se would not just be considering millicent but instead they will have to consider taking on all wbfl clubs as the sacfl will not allow a 5 team comp to run.
If it came to this the mid se would have no choice but to take them all on as the sacfl can enforce it. Unless they decided to join...
Sanfl are supporting vansittart park in becoming a premier oval, similar to the vcfl supporting reid oval in warrnambool in becoming a premier ground. There's no favourtism towards one club, north are blessed by location.
Saints recruited two from the burr which I believe they have lost to adelaide. I know they offered scott gamble from mt burr $600 a game whom I know little about.
With an exception of a few players a wbfl vs mid se interleague match would be more or less wbfl footballers vs ex wbfl footballers.
There's a real problem with junior numbers in the kntfl so I wouldn't be surprised if 2 of the bigger clubs reconsider their futures.
Kaniva should easily be the flag favourite and its fair to say it has been a long time coming considering they have been the whipping boy for so long.
I think the only way the sacfl will get naracoorte into the wbfl is through a restructure. Final report is supposed to be released next...
Part of the review process is talking to councils so perhaps they may agree to provide a certain level of funding. They have given a projected deadline to have this club up and running at senior level within 5 years so perhaps investigations are further along then indicated in the report.
Location and longterm wise I think starting up a mt gambier club is the way to go. Youll get maximum participation levels and there is no shortage of juniors in the area. Location wise frew park is ideal. Its not a big ground but I think there is enough room at the back of the oval for netball...
From what I understand the SACFL was going to push for a review anyway. There were other factors why a review needed to be called apart from the heywood/imps situation.
Pretty bad news for the saints with 3 key players out for the season. Should be able to hold their spot in the five but will make their finals campaign pretty tough.
Easts skills looked pretty average and noone apart from flemming could take a contested mark. It doesn't look like they have a forward option either. Not what you would expect from a club that is supposed to be on their way up.
Off the ball incident.....punched the portland player in the face, may have broken his jaw cant remember and knocked alot of teeth out. The doctor said his face ressembled a car accident, he missed a whole season from the injury and had to have surgery.
Rumour is true, Jarrod Ryan has just put in his clearance to join penola. Small forward, freakish but hot headed. Assume you heard what happened against portland.
At his best he'll set the comp alive....
It was expected east were the improvers and west would drop back. East, with the list they have and should be a top 3 side would have been expected to stamp their authority this early on in the season. But still it is early days
From what I hear portland have produced one of their better...
Yeah I wouldn't laugh too hard snitz the scores are actually the other way round. North won the game. But still north don't seem any better to last year and millicent could've won the game. With nulty in the ruck they wont be winning a flag in 2012.
Brad Ottens would be a big $$$ signing. Where does padthaway get their money from. How are lucindale shaping up according to the kntfl website there has been a few losses.
Naracoorte would be fairly vulnerable in a different league to the other clubs but if they could get a majority of the top players in the region at the club in a major league than look out. How did they go in their trial game against north.
I think the option to field a under 18's side was there but it would've required kids playing 2 games of footy in a day. A positive for the club is they have expanded their under 12's from 12 to 70 players in just a few years and hopefully still growing. I believe they are fielding 3 under 12's...
