Chief Not sure if anyone mentioned it but West Coast’s score suddenly went from 23 to 14 here and had been carried forever ever since. Post 205 and 207
I just tried this for both PC2010 and PC2011.
I can confirm typing :\\PlayerDataDump into the searchbox once a career is loaded will attempt to dump the data, however it seems to work only for PC2010 and appears broken for PC2011. I get a message box saying the dump was complete for both but...
I have updated the AFL2004 link which means people should be able the game without requesting access to the old google drive link.
This should allow people to be able to play the game as I have been getting a number of emails about people requesting access to download the game but I keep...
That was the first thing I did when I started developing the code further. I managed to get GWS in with seemingly no issues.
I did a few other changes such as making sure brownlow votes are counted for the extra game and some other things but seeing so many other problems just made me stop...
Surprised it has been 3 years already since the source code was released. I answered this in another thread just before that I stopped working on it once Grenville resumed development.
No plans to continue development on my side but I may take a look at what I had done.
I stopped working on it as soon as Grenville had announced that a new version was in development.
I still have the source code on my other computer but I don't think I will do anything with it although I might decide to take a look at it.
The main thing was the large amount of bugs in the 2012...
Grenville has been working on PC2019. I was making some fixes a few months ago but had I continued on with it, it was never going to be a different game, rather just PC2011 with a change to 2018.
I used to mess around with the game to create a variety of custom scenarios/teams. One that I loved doing was simming a year up until just after the draft, and then taking the player files for the first 40 picked and putting them in a team such as Melbourne or Gold Coast in a new save. It was...
Given that Grenville does plan to release a new version of Premiership Coach, I will no longer be working on what I was trying to do with the open source.
It has been awhile since I have worked on it as Grenville did let me know of his intentions to work on the game again.
1) I preferred simulating games over using the real time match day system. My main reason was that I felt the stats were much more realistic through simulating rather than playing matches. I feel that there are still a lot of people who use the real match day system though.
2) The newspaper...
My break is over, so I don't have too much time to work on it now. I did find some more bugs when I was playing through a career which I will have to fix.
It's been around a month since I have posted on this thread, so I figured I may as well give people an update even though there is not too much that has changed. I did say that I wanted to get started on this again towards late June, however I didn't have the time back then and can confirm that...
This is normal, even for tall defenders rated around 85-90. Key forwards seem to get tons of possessions and goals, and it doesn't seem to matter how highly rated the key defender is.
If you are looking at developing a tall defender, you can put them in the left back pocket and you can expect...
It's pretty broken at the moment that I would recommend playing PC2011 with the 2018 lists instead as that would be better. Once I start working on this again (looking to be in just over a months time), I will continually upload new versions of the beta for people to try out.
I haven't done anything since I released that pre-beta. I will try to do more next week and in the coming weeks, but If I can't, I have a break for the whole of July so I will spend a lot of time then.
Unsure as to why the drop down boxes are causing problems for some people. I haven't touched the code since I uploaded the beta though, so I'm still yet to determine why its happening, but I did check if it was an issue for myself and it appears not to be.
I think I've got enough people for the current testing, however this is just the beginning. Once more changes are made we will need people to continue testing the game. As long as you are keeping up to date with the progress and are active at the time, you will be welcome to help.
I see. This is why its helpful to have other people test things out because there are lots of things you can miss.
Edit: I'm not experiencing the same issue. I am aware other people are though but not sure if its everyone else. While I haven't investigated the issue yet, there is a chance it...
As it can be quite problematic to update everyone through 3 conversations. I will post all found issues here.
Problems with the colour of dropdown boxes. (I haven't observed this myself)
Can't select anything in match tactics screen.
If you choose to coach the matches, the game crashes after a...
Decided to release it now rather than tomorrow. As there were quite a few of you who wanted to try it out, rather than messaging everyone individually, I messaged 5 people each in 3 conversations for a total of 15 (No idea why the limit is 5 as I wanted to have the one conversation for everyone)
I think I will be releasing the pre-beta sometime tomorrow.
A couple of things to note regarding the pre-beta.
I will message all the people who either said they were interested or liked my post regarding the beta testing. The message will contain the download link as well as some information...
You guys can expect a pre-beta version of the game somewhat soon. I'm just wondering if it is better to release it only to a few people who want to help find bugs, or to release it publicly and get input from everyone. Either way, let me know if you are interested in beta testing so I know who...
I'll probably get someone to do the graphics once I get a version out that people can test to find bugs. The source files have the graphics for the other teams, so at the very least its just a recolouring job.
Note: Long update post below (Don't panic, nothing bad has happened)
So yesterday I updated you guys with my progress for getting GWS in the game. At the moment with my testing, it appears that there isn't much else to add in for GWS aside from their home and away jumpers and those little...
I've slowly been getting GWS to work with some good progress.
There was a problem with not being able to select GWS as your team so I fixed that, but noticed if you selected GWS, the game crashes at the start. I found out this was due to there being no banner that appears at the top of the main...
I've decided that I'm going to take another look at the source today and over the next week. If I can at least get GWS fixed, change the start year from 2012 to 2018 and fix other bugs that prevent a season from being completed, then I can get a beta release out. If that stage gets reached, we...
You probably extracted the folder so that once you open the extracted folder, the folder inside is "user_2018" in which files for the list are stored inside. You want to have it so that once you open the extracted folder, you immediately see the list files (such as the players and club folders)...
Even if we get the game to progress through each season without errors while having GWS, I don't think it will be enough to release. As the open source version is an incomplete version of PC2012, there are more bugs that has to be fixed.
The main reason I didn't choose to progress further with...
There is actually alot of other stuff that needs to be fixed aswell as a bunch of things that were a problem in PC2011.
The way trading works in the open source version needs to be fixed as it was different to PC2011 and from when I was messing around with the open source version it was very...
