    2018 Best 22

Would really like to see Mirra get a run, I think he would be very valuable in the backline.

    2018 Best 22

Will be interesting to see whether David Mirra can slot straight in and play a role for us. A very capable and consistent player.

    2018 Best 22

    He will be a midfielder.

    2018 Best 22

Hard for Brand to displace Frawley, and it will obviously be a week to week thing with who they match up with. I think Stratton and Hardwick play slightly different roles. Hardwick is an elite kick and I could see him being used as a rebound defender. If anything, Stratton and Sicily play more...

hawks need to not only win this but win this game by a big margin, if we have any shot of getting into the finals we need to up that percentage big time

    Preview Round 8, 2017: Hawthorn vs Brisbane, 13th May 2017, 1:45pm @ UTAS

Would like to see Vickery, O'Rouke and even Wilsmore get a game, all been playing well in the VFL. Birchall out (knee unfortunately) Howe (isn't offering much and lacks composure with the ball) Sicily (is only offering a little bit more than Howe)

Game Day Hawthorn v St Kilda

L love him, but he looks half the player he once was. Can't jump, looks slow, lacks touch. Unfortunately, he needs a run in the seconds, but I'm not sure that will even help. Maybe everything he has gone through has ultimately ended his football career.

Preview Round 6 vs Saints - changes and preview

In: O'Meara (if fit) Out: Howe Also if Birchall is ready to come back, then I reckon Hardwick makes way. Even though he played well, I'm not sure who else you'd drop? Gibson? Yeah that won't happen.

    Autopsy Hawthorn v Adelaide

In: Whitecross, Brand, Hartung Out: Stewart, Miles, Gibson Whitecross can win more contested ball and is a good user. Brand because we are getting smashed in contested marks. Hartung because he offers us run. Gibson looks slow, as does Burgoyne, one of them has to go. Stewart and Miles...

    Game Day Round 2 , 1st April 2017, Hawthorn v Adelaide @ 1.45pm

Whitecross can win more contested ball and is a good user. Brand because we are getting smashed in contested marks. Hartung because he offers us run. Burgoyne looks slow, as does Gibson, one of them has to go. Stewart and Miles haven't offered anything. Need to use the ball better, O'Meara...

    Preview Round 2, 2017; Hawthorn v Adelaide, 1 April 2017 @ 1.45pm

I agree with this, who comes out is the issue. Hodge will obviously come in, but i think you can only really take out two players and them two players in my opinion are Shoenmakers and Duryea. I don't think Shoenmakers offers enough around the ground to warrant his position and I think Duryea is...

    Preview Round 2, 2017; Hawthorn v Adelaide, 1 April 2017 @ 1.45pm

Agree, would rather see Sicily go forward and Shoenmakers come out of the team. He is an excellent set shot but doesn't give enough around the ground. Even a Burton for Shoenmakers, that kid has a lot of talent and potential. I agree Duryea out for Hodge

Yeah i am unsure how he fits in the backline with that set up and who he would replace. Needs a year of experience though

    Preview Round 2, 2017; Hawthorn v Adelaide, 1 April 2017 @ 1.45pm

I think we need to be playing the young guys like Burton, Stewart, Miles, Brand. In all honesty, we probably aren't going to win the flag this year, would rather play the kids and be looking forward to the next premiership assault in a year or 2.

'Questions that don't warrant a thread' Thread - Part 2

Chris Yarren to Hawthorn? Could see him having a huge impact at a good club under good leadership. Has huge talent, just seems to need something to play for which he doesn't get at Cartlon.

Preview Hawks vs Cats - ins, outs, and what Hawkins will be eating pre-game

Is shoenmakers offering enough to warrant his spot? Perhaps an Anderson would offer more. In: Lake Out: Suckling Sub: an impact player/runner.

    Alastair Clarkson

Irrelevant to the theme of the conversation in this thread but does Hawthorn need to start to think about replacing Clarkson? I know a lot will think this is a stupid question but he has been at the club a long time and with continued talk of Bolton been poached as a senior coach at various...

    Preview Hawks vs The Saints

IMO, Hale is looking very old and slow. He is a better forward but i think McEvoy is more agile and offers more around the ground. Also has a bigger tank.

    Preview Hawks vs The Saints

IN: Lewis, Birchall, Shoenmakers, Langford OUT: Suckling, Howe, Litherland, Puopolo (if injured) if not than maybe Duryea? (Has been playing well though) I think Shoenmakers has done well since he has moved forward and being at the game yesterday it was extremely windy and wet and was probably...

    Autopsy Hawks vs Swans

On Suckling, I think he probably still has the best kick in the competition however there is so much that can go wrong with his style which was shown tonight. With Hodge coming back next week i feel he is the most vulnerable, especially if Shoenmakers is staying in the side (which i felt he...

Preview Hawks vs Dees: Hale, Frawley and Liquor IN, Swiss, Big Boy and Jed OUT.

Slightly confused with the line up, naming Frawley, Gus but dropping two smaller players in Anderson, Whitecross. Hartung will probably be sub and that leaves us down on two midfield type players in the starting line up. Surely Shoenmakers will start up forward. Just don't see how this line up...

Preview Hawks vs Dees: Hale, Frawley and Liquor IN, Swiss, Big Boy and Jed OUT.

In: Frawley, O'Rouke Out: Shoenmakers, Whitecross. *only because Whitecross has been sub two weeks in a row. *Anderson out if they are going to start Whitecross.

    Preview Round 5, 2015 - North Melbourne v Hawthorn, 2 May 2015, 7.20pm @ Etihad

Shoenmakers for Lake. Anderson for Poppy (If injured) Woodward for Mitchell (If injured) O'Rouke or Simpkin could also be options, Sicely still looks a bit raw for senior footy. Shiels to come back if he is fit. On another note, Langford is defiantly below the standard he set towards the end of...
