Walters has the runs on the board but we owe JOM nothing. He's been sub which suggests he's already on the fringes.
Surely he's not in the 23 this week. :straining:
We're not far away. Can make a pretty strong case that we'd be 6-0 if Coxy stays fit.
We're $41 for the flag for a reason, but I'm not writing off 2024 yet. We're currently above both of last years Grand Finalists.
Walters had 6 shots on goal a few weeks ago against the Crows. I'm not writing him off yet. Needs a spell though.
Erasmus just seems very vanilla. He's projecting as a Will Brodie, Ryley Dunn, Chris Masten type of top 10 pick. A midfielder that isn't quick and doesn't have great skills. Might...
There was an article in The West a day or 2 ago on Voss.
WAFL: Peel Thunder and Fremantle Dockers forward Patrick Voss says tackling pressure sets him apart
That's what we need, a Treacy clone over Taberner.
Brodie played well in 2022 when Mundy was still in the team. I certainly don't want Fyfe and Brodie at every centre bounce but if they both play say 60% onball that's only 6 minutes a quarter that they're in the middle together.
If we let the Bont fly out the front of stoppage like Yeo and Reid did then we're fire trucked. Either Erasmus stays in to play a defensive role on Bont or the stronger Brodie comes in to mind Bont at stoppage.
People are sick of Hughes and O'Meara though. If you stick with the status quo and keep losing you deserve to be sacked.
If Taberner comes in for Amiss and we lose to the Dogs the internet and talkback radio will go crazy with people calling for JLo's head.
I'm not a JLo fan, just playing devils advocate, but is part of the reason that we're risk averse about who is on the park? If we had Chapman and Cox inside D50 instead of Hughes and Draper would we be more likely to take that risky kick into the middle? If we had Acres and Hill pushing hard...
That's fair and I wasn't endorsing him for the job. But the delivery to our forwards has been terrible and we have no crumbers.
How good would our 2024 forward line look with peak Ballantyne/Walters/Mayne/deBoer providing pressure?
Kicking a fantastic goal from 50m nearly every week in 2022 has inflated everyone's view of NOD. Outside of that he doesn't get much of the ball.
Should really be getting 20-25 possessions a week for Peel to force his way in but just 6 kicks and 9 handballs on the weekend in a team that won...
JLo said in his presser that the fixturing is brutal and that only 2 of the first 6 as home games isn't ideal. We won't be requesting back to back games in Adelaide for gather round next year.
Voss for Amiss is a forced change and Switta and Freddy are best 22 so that's 3 changes straight off the bat. Youngy limped off so could be 4 forced changes.
I'm as disappointed as anyone, and don't think JLo is the man for the job. But I think it's a bit of an over reaction after 1 result. Two heart breaking losses in a row, 8 days on the road, Darcy back in after an extended break, Luke Ryan playing his worst ever game for the club....etc etc. Hold...
He's not currently AFL standard. 9 possessions, 2 free kicks against and doesn't use the ball well after a horrendous quarter as sub against Port.
If things go pear shaped and we can't make the 8 then bring him in but while we still have finals aspirations we have to pick a team to win. Select...
We played quite well during the Covid hubs and the players seemed to bond so I'm assuming we requested back to back games in Adelaide to spend less time in the air.
Can't help thinking the umpire pays that touched ball in the Carlton game that we'd be 6-0. Took the air out of our tyres.
Only...
Hogan was totally off the rails with his dodgey mates in WA and couldn't handle the media spotlight. He had to go. Sydney where 99% of the public have no idea who he is is perfect for Jesse.
