So what happens to players who are over 23 and still want to have a game, but don’t have the ability or dedication to play at senior level??????

There seems to be less smokies getting through these days… never forget Dale Morris, Matthew Boyd, JJ, Liam Picken, Like Dahlhaus all played in a somewhat important winning game a few years back and were Rookies…
There are gems to be found

Worst one ever in my opinion was when I was a teenager in the 80s
The Footscray player went to punch the ball away as a spoil. The ball then hit the point post.
Umpire Vas Vasilou then paid a free kick to Carlton for deliberate out of bounds…
Vasilou got dropped the next week and wasn’t heard...
The EDFL gave a pathetic response to Aberfeldie’s salary cap breach in a premiership year a few years ago…
The premiership wasn’t taken from them… A very poor look in my view...
Wouldn’t be a bad idea to have a few Gisborne v Kyneton games at the graveyard on Good Friday…. Kyneton has had more than it’s fair share of these Good Friday games over the past 10 years.

It doesn’t matter EDFL Div 1 mid table clubs are about in par with the top Riddell League clubs… Riddell league clubs are lucky to have 4-5 players that would get a game in decent Bendigo league team.

I’m really disappointed to hear it was only a 27 point win for Gisborne v Rupo. Rupo finished 5th in the second tier EDFL division last year. 100 point win should have been expected.

My knock on Liam when he was at the dogs was it seemed he didn’t have a great tank…. He could always mark well but struggled at the additional efforts…..
I wouldn’t be surprised if he has more of a fast twitch muscle type.
He took a lot longer than most players to build a tank.. but he had...
Terrible idea to create a second Gisborne junior club
The Riddell junior league put a cap on the number of teams a junior club could field in each age group….
Being a big fish in a small pond winning by big margins every week does nothing for junior development.
Gisborne juniors should have...
In this world where AFL clubs draft tall players as a speculation I would very inclined to go for the best available footballer with our last Rookie pick. 173cm Morrish Medalist Flynn Lakey has been an outstanding junior. He just gets the ball and uses it wisely. You probably couldn't have Lakey...
I’ve seen quite a bit of Ramsay as a junior… like every talented kid he was a gun midfielder at that level….
He is a free spirited player…fast and picks the ball up quickly and gets it onto his boot….. I think Carlton could do themselves a favour and play him as a smallish forward (182cm is...
I’ve see quite a bit of Ramsay’s junior footy.... Sam is a very instinctive player, he is super fast, picks the ball up off the ground at speed, he can get the ball onto his left foot very quickly.... so much so that you day to someone beside you and ask “who kicked that goal”....he is also a...
Gisborne would be far too strong for the Riddell League.
They would be a good fit if the best Bendigo League clubs joined the best Ballarat league clubs.

Harry’s underage footy did not stink. He was a bloody good junior footballer in he played pivotal roles as a bottom ager in Gisborne’s 2016 Under 16 and 2018 Under 18 premierships....
He is a very good big moment player.....
He has grown from a tall mid size to a KPP size in the last few...
It’s very likely Harry will fill out... His dad and uncles were all very good EDFL players that were lightly built teenagers that filled out over time... He should eventually be a good player for you.

I think you’ve nailed it with a Gunston type.... Harry is a smart tall hard runner... has a handy knack of kicking goals at the right time.
He will still bob up and take a few pack marks here and there...
Really good fella.

I’ve seen a fair bit of Harry’s junior footy....
He is a really smart player and has the knack of kicking a goal when his team really needs it.....
He will still be light and isn’t ready yet... probably will need another two pre seasons.
Having said that, the bombers have nothing to lose if...
Harry was being modest... he has always been on of the best players of his age in the local league. He did however step up to Vic Metro level this year.

Harry is a really nice kid and a big game player. His last quarter efforts for Gisborne in Under 16 (2016) and Under 18 (2018) Grand Finals had a huge influence on his team getting over the line to win.
Ramma has always been an excellent junior footballer. He is very quick and has a long left foot. If I were in the Carlton coaching group Id give Sam the opportunity to play in 2020 as a Mid/Small forward during match practice. He is very good at swooping on the crumbs at top speed and getting a...
I’m of the belief that Calder Cannons B&F Sam Ramsay has the potential to develop into a good small/medium forward at the top level. From what I understand he hasn’t been playing that role in the TAC cup..
Ramsay is fast and can win his own footy. Well worth a late pick or Rookie selection...
