Resetting???? WTF?
In: Frampton, Hill, McStay and maybe Mitchell.
Out: Grundy, Henry and future 2nd & 3rd rounders
That’s one huge s**t sandwich. We traded out Treloar because we had too to meet Cap requirements. We traded out Grundy because we felt like it. Mad s**t.
One of the most...
While I totally understand that perspective from supporters, it’d be very different in club land.
You damage relationships with player managers and players, should they think you’ve offered unders. I’m not saying that what’s happening here but the intended club does have consequences in an...
Really. If anything Wright & McRae's trading decisions this trade period have shown that don't own any lube and don't care. They stink.
I reckon Ollie gets to pick 25 in an open ND. Extremely rare a player doesn't in these cases. In fact, I can only recall players in the PSD not getting to...
Hahaha. Wright and McRae are going to use the ole "We're just trying to fix someones else's mistake to deflect their way away from this epic trade".
s**t deal is s**t. Next you know we'll handover a reasonable draft pick for a guy about to be delisted.
If Ollie went into the ND, would he get to pick 25?
I think he does. It’s extremely rare for a team to select a player, using a decent draft pick, which is what pick 25 is, decent, when that player doesn’t want to play there. He’s not a rookie draftee who a club hopes they can turn around.
Not sure on that. Mackie is hardly going to come out and say we’ve been courting him all year, if that was in fact the case.
Mackie first year in the role has 3 young former first round picks that want to play for Geelong + pick 7. There’s a bit of pressure on him to get all 3 deals done or...
Wright and McRae have signalled how desperate we are to get rid of Brodie. Going to be a struggle to get more then pick 27.
Mad sh*t. This is going to bite us in the a*se.
Few people would think pick 18 isn’t a fair deal.
Gut feeling is Gold Coast want pick 18 in return for Bowes & pick 7. It adds up that Geelong might be steadfast not to part with it. I wouldn’t if it jeopardised the deal for pick 7.
Pick 7 & Bowes for pick 18 is still a freakin great deal...
Pick 13, Freo future 1st & NM future 2nd appears about right. It's close to a top 10 pick and another first rounder, which is what Melbourne want.
Not all firsts are equal. Pick 13 and Freo's future first (likely another teens pick) aren't great first rounders.
I'm not buying the 'free up money for Mitchell' at all.
We're only touching Mitchell if Hawthorn pay a really big chunk of his salary. I'd guess leaving considerably less than $600k for us to pay.
The money freed up allowed us to resign JDG and bring in McStay. Nice diversion by the club, so...
Hopefully we can squeeze the North future 2nd compo pick.
Dees paying around $600k p.a for Brodie. He’s on around $925k to $950k p.a per Tom Browne, son of the president. Small pay cut..Whoosh.
Dees are freakin laughing. Replace Jackson with Brodie & pick up 2 first round picks. **** me.
Separate deals but the picks traded cascade to other teams.
Logue to North for F2 AFL assistance pick. Likely top 25.
Jackson & pick 33 to Freo for pick 14, Freo F1 & North F2 AFL assistance pick.
Grundy + $300k P.A for next 5 years to Dees for North F2 AFL assistance pick.
Yep. Feel like we’ve paid overs for a guy who hardly played this year, albeit due to a very serious illness.
Not convinced with Wright at all. His top ups stuffed Hawthorn royally.
Would prefer Geelings future first as couldn’t be worse then pick 18, to be 19/20 come selection on draft night, unless there’s some f/s or academy kids that haven’t been spoken of much for 2023.
Think Cats will use 2023 1st for Bruhn. Throw back one of our picks in the 40’s for pick 18 this year.
Good luck to Ollie. Disappointed to lose a quality young player but not dirty on him as I don’t blame him.
Seriously, have a look at how well Geelong are run and have been for a long time. McRae and Wright didn’t rate him highly enough.
You have to give it to the Cats, will get Ollie & Bruhn...
Yep. His reading of the play and marking ability are his strengths. I could see him being a very good 3rd tall intercept defender as well as forward.
Yep. If Geelong offer pick 18, likely to slide to 20 with father son picks, we’ll take it. More then fair, IMO.
I’d assume Geelong’s future 1st...
