I feel that a small change to our game plan from the last time we played Melbourne might work better against them if we meet: with our kickouts, instead of "kick it to Gawn", we could try "kick it to where Gawn isn't".

I reckon Gunston is in the equivalent position that Grundy is in with Melbourne. No matter how good a player Grundy is, and for that matter Gunston, playing him upsets the team balance. Melbourne made the hard but obvious decision and so should the Lions.

Was also at the BHA tours last evening - very impressive facilities! Our tour wrapped up out on the oval. I was really surprised at the hardness of the ground. The (very tough) grass cover seems to have little thickness or sponginess in it, and was cut quite short.

I couldn't work out from the telecast who Saad was on for most of the game (or vice versa). Zac looked to be on him a bit, but although Saad made a few upfield runs with the ball he didn't seem to get away too often. Not a hugh influence on the game.
