The only reason I would feel any sympathy for Liam was if the reason he moved to Melbourne was because he was gay and wanted to get away from unforgiving friends/family etc in WA so he could be himself in Melbourne and didn't want to come out either so he kept it quiet to Fremantle also...
Yay! More draft picks to look forward to instead of actual success on the playing field as we always seem to lose players/trade in nufties like Hogan/McCarthy/Sylvia/Kersten/Lobb etc....
Are you being sarcastic?!?!
Are our supporter base so used to losing talent we have developed that we are actually more excited about lottery picks than actual talent? Notwithstanding that we want to move up the ladder and picks in return for established players only put that back even further...
Can we just change our name to the Freemantle Feeder Club already (extra E intended)?
FFS! One of the top handful of pressure goalkicking forwards in the comp and all we get are some lottery tickets. I feel like Jacks mum when he came home with “magic” beans.

Whats the point. We seem doomed to middle of the table:
Putridly managed teams (Melb, North) get gifted enough top end talent they eventually jag a list capable of premierships
Big Vic teams constantly use their built in advantages (15 home games a year, minimal travel, MCG, big crowds) to...
If we’re talking end of first round pick for Lachie, why not entertain a swap of Lachie for Ed Allen (pick 19, 2022) plus F2?
He’s had a full year in the system, is tall and has elite speed (2.81 for 20m) and agility, has been playing wing for Collingwood in the reserves and doing well...
The worst thing in all this is we replace yet another mature player with a lottery pick, that could turn into a good player - IN 3 TO 5 F#@KING YEARS TIME.
With better player retention (Neale, Acres etc) - we would have had a midfield capable of matching the best in the AFL this year. Poor...
Fremantle - the Nursery club of the AFL, the difference with Gold Coast is that they relied on an abundance of high draft picks to get talent which then wanted out. We develop kids into good players who then go elsewhere for success.
Seriously, we're stuffed. Not cr#p enough to get abundant...
Injury gods will play a big part next year. Competition is as level as its ever been apart from North and West Coast.
Our achilles heel is our midfield, which doesn't have the depth to go with the stronger teams. Hopefully though with Young going in there with a full pre-season learning the...
The thing that gets my goat is that the concessions that North are getting, on top of all the top end draft picks they have had over the last few years (2022: Pick 3, 4; 2021: Pick 1; 2020: Pick 3, 13) are not only designed to make them competitive again, but are likely to eventually lead to a...
It’s based on a historical and now out of date generalization that all Collingwood supporters derive from the suburb of Collingwood, which was a den of poverty, drug and alcohol abuse and general racist scum. There may have been some truth to that up until the late 90s but it’s been far from the...
No premiership team is ever built of only A-graders, also in the midfield. You need good solid players on the rung below and depth that can rotate through. Look at Geelong's midfield last year that won the premiership. Johnson/Erasmus don't fill the wing deficiency we have.
The problem is...
We should be prioritising midfielders not forwards in any trading. We got smashed this year against good midfields as we lacked depth and now losing Henry also. We need depth, not necessarily A-graders, but the next Langdon/Henry/Hill types, who can also impact now not in 5 years time.
Jeremy...
I just can't see any way we come out on top in a trade here.
Lose a player we have spent 5 years developing and used Pick 9 on for a second round pick at best and another unproven youngster out of school that we need to spend another 5 years developing??
He is probably is top 15 from that...
What I want to know is: was it something that Fremantle could have prevented (i.e. a unworkable relationships with other players or coaches) or is it something personal for Henry/not to do with the football club?
We're at risk of becoming a nursury club IMO the longer if we get into a cycle of players leaving after going through 4-5 years of development and nearing their peak. That leaves us not good enough to ever win anything, just constantly developing, which creates a further impetus for the next lot...
Is that the highest number of points ever for a team finishing 14th? A few years ago 40 points got you in the 8. Couple of unforgivable games away from 8th (norf game)

Dear Peter Bell,
Can we please not lose another midfielder due to list management issues/decisions?
That is all.
Regards,
Longsufferingfreofanof28years
So glad JL has put Young into the midfield. Young's upside in the middle is higher than his upside at HB. He has the best potential out of anyone in our midfield to win a brownlow. He's also exactly what we need in there - a Mundy type inside/outside player with a deadly kick. Would love to...
Christ, really can't afford to keep losing midfielders. Particularly after we have developed them/turned their form around.
We have been smashed in the midfield this year, and to an extent last year, whenever we lost/came up against a good midfield.
Doesn't help that we have lost Neale...
So yeah, this year we have effectively replaced Mundy, Brodie, Acres, Fyfe with Johnson, O'Meara, Henry/Erasmus and Injured/Old Fyfe, so no surprise all our losses have come with absolute beltings in the midfield.
If we had kept Neale, Cerra, perhaps Acres, then we would be well in the 8. As...
Seems like some are hanging the Acres whipping boy tag on Henry now.
Although ironically they bashed Acres for blindly bombing it long and turning it over, despite his good defensie efforts, whereas Henry lacks the penetrating long kicks and they lambast him for his dinky kicks and poor...
So much angst still about our forward line. I reckon it looks decent. Our biggest concern is the lack of damaging midfielders/wings that can kick goals and this year its also been our defense. We are actually in the top 8 for our offense (points scored) but bottom 5 for our defense (points...
Why do we always blame the forwards? So many comments about the need to bring in better forwards. Does anyone not pay any attention to modern football and other teams?
You need a spread of goal kickers including midfield and at the moment it is coming almost all from the forwards with...
Anyone at the ground get a good review? Idiots played a replay of the lead up and not the mark. Happened so quickly and with a distant camera shot you couldn't really make it out except for it looks like he marked it one handed whilst being held with the other??
