Sadly I don't think he does. Not defending his comments at all. He seems out of touch. It's sad to see the hard work undone and his legacy tarnished.

Club Mgmt. Board of Directors as led by President Dave Barham

The sad thing about today is that these comments will be what people are left with as a lasting memory of Sheedy. I hope once this is all over he can still be appreciated for everything he has done for the club.

This is spot on. Love Kevin Sheedy (and for the record James Hird), but it's time for Sheedy to go now. Blind loyalty above due process. Followed by the urge to air dirty laundry in public. This is not the collective unity of a director of the Essendon FC the members would expect.

Believe it changed in 2020 due to COVID venue limits (i.e. it allowed them to split the games and have more at each venue). Clubs now seem to be happy enough with it, so has stayed that way.

Think that's club members. Poor yes. MP listed a post suggesting you could signup as a member on the night of the vote for $5, without seeing their specific constitution this would be unconstitutional in any organisation with modern governance, and probably doomed their vote to fail regardless.

I see Motton Preston and East Ulverstone merger failed, East Ulverstone overwhelming in favour though (47-2). Wonder what happens to them now :'(

True that it was a bad incident, he plead guilty and is clearly in the process of serving his punishments for what was clearly a huge mistake. While people are entitled to be disgusted at the incident, or have views around the sentence, etc I don't think it benefits anyone to continue to drum...

Good summary of the games IMO Gersman Hobart had a crack and always went in as underdogs against Southern Storm. Reserves game was uninspiring to watch, Lindisfarne absolutely dominated. Seniors a great match -> Huonville didn't take their chances in 1st half but overall Cygnet deserving premiers

The "flawed system" was surely better than just permitting the TSLW to roll back into the competition and belt everyone by 200+ pts every week. Glenorchy chose to play one short at the end of the day, they could have played other lesser point players and had a full 18. They essentially made the...

Can anyone read the advocate article on the proposed merger details? It's paywalled. All I saw was vote on September 23.

Would Hobart need a new stadium?

TCA Ground has better access/parking than Bellerive. Missed opportunity there back in the 90s imo. Blundstone is adequate, maybe needs some improvements to feel more like a footy ground!

I've wondered this too as a neutral fan here. Never heard a bad word about him before the media coverage early in the week and a small amount of OHA supporters. Am I missing something here?

To be fair if you wanted to get paid to get assaulted there's more money in MMA or something. I've read some absurd commentary on facebook to justify what reads as an ugly incident. Did anyone here see it?

    General TSL Talk

The relative size of the ground does make a difference but I guess the argument can be made they'd all bottleneck in carpark, kiosk, etc on the way in or out. Although you are spot on that 500 people at UTAS is a bit different to at a small soccer pitch or local suburban ground. I guess we just...

    General TSL Talk

Got a laugh out of today's paper. NH president reckons the 500 person limit cost his club 1500 patrons and $15,000. When did they last get 2,000 to a game? I seem to recall around 10 years back when they had double digit paying spectators at a game in fact.

I still can't understand why the OSFA don't align to AFLTAS and amalgamate with the SFL to form a two division Southern Competition. I think that would be the best outcome for both competitions IMO.
