Post Round 11: What did you learn from the round?

I know. And I was just pointing out that they might not want to stand in that glass house when they decide to throw stones.

Post Round 11: What did you learn from the round?

Hmmmm. I just learnt that when Essendon wins a NAB cup game and start worshipping the Golden Boy as if he just moonwalked across the Yarra, it is cool and it is just happy supporters enjoying the moment BUT when we win a game for 4 points after a week of being called cheats and soft by other...

Jack Watts will finish his career known as a very high quality player at LEAST.

Good post. Where he is at is pretty much where the club hoped he'd be at around this point. Every game he learns something. Every game he gets a bit more confident. Every game week he is a tad stronger than the last week. I will expect him to start stamping some more authority on the game once...

Breaking News: Port Adelaide Football Club runs out of cash, SANFL may take over

Not really but the AFL is a rare and wonderful beast that does some funny things at times. Who knows how they will see this.

Breaking News: Port Adelaide Football Club runs out of cash, SANFL may take over

No. It means the AFL has to have 18 teams for the next five years. Not the same thing at all.

AFL Draft Top Ten: Fools Gold?

When you are picking boys and trying to guess what they will be like at twenty three you are going to have some misses and some late order hits you didn't expect.

Preview FACEOFF ROUND 7: ADELAIDE vs. MELBOURNE

Good read. I don't care about the result as long as we... y'know... try. It's really not too much to ask.

When the Gold Coast start shedding players like a snakes sheds its skin...

The AFL will just give them some third party deals or more concessions when that happens. The AFL want them to be successful so successful they will be.

    SEN's Top 10 draft blunders

I don't want to jinx it. After a couple of injury free years I'll start crowing. Oh and it was Lethal with a little help from Collingwood.

    SEN's Top 10 draft blunders

Hmmm. He had the talent but not the brains to go with it. On his day he was very, very good but those days were a bit few and far between a #1 pick. Still getting Jack Grimes out of the trade will probably mean we'll end up at least breaking even in the long run.

Is half back the most damaging position on the ground now?

Barassi took Robert Flower from the wing and put him as a HBF. I'm not sure of the year though 83? 84? Whether he influence Roos or Roos him is a question only they could answer.

Re: Trades youd like to see your team make I would have settled for a half eaten packet of potato chips but yours looks good too.

    Liam Jurrah's performance against Essendon

Re: How many goals will Liam Jurrah kick against a woeful Essendon backline? Cool. Waste of time Essendon turning up then?

    What's going to be bigger?

Why? Because he will make his decision after reading BigFooty or are the polls legally binding now? Anyway the answer is: Brain.

Ban Scully threads till end of season.

Quod erat demonstrandum - Just a fancy way of saying "The argument is proved". I'm not sure how just saying it makes it so but if it makes the Chicken Littles happy...

Do certain media sources really want to kill certain clubs?

Just a case of bad news getting readers or viewers. Some journo's do take their dislike of certain clubs a bit too far but it's hardly a hidden agenda.

Will Tom Scully stay or go?

    Say goodbye to Pendles then...

If Scully was discovered to have signed with GWS...

Who the hell do you think you are? Fat Eddie "thinks" he's gone and you want to crucify the kid. Go support Richmond - they like eating their own. But you're not a Dees supporter so your opinion on our list management is irrelevant. Take Sheed's advice and worry about your own backyard.

Sheedy says he'll land a Collingwood superstar

Um... It backfired. Kev saw a chance to hip and shoulder Fat Ed and get some free publicity so he took it.
  20. R

If Scully was discovered to have signed with GWS...

That the manager has at least fished the waters to see what is on offer around the traps. I'd sack my manager on the spot if he didn't do that even if I had no interest in leaving.
  21. R

Sheedy says he'll land a Collingwood superstar

Muddying the waters if you ask me. I think the whole GWS strategy is to create panic and confusion among as many teams as possible. Get teams to spend big coin on the wrong players and create dissent among the ones that are not getting offered the fat contracts. Make the clubs overspend this...

AFL would be remiss to oversee Scully-GWS deal

No it was 2 & 18 and #5 later. More than fair and not the same thing. Anyway the rules are there for the Scully deal and we all signed off on them so there is no point grumbling now.

Intra-Club form - Does it translate?

Hard to say unless you know what the coaching staff where trying to achieve. All sorts of things are tried out at this time of year and not all of them will make it to round one.
  24. R

3 teams you would love beat this year and why?

Piss off you *ed troll. Collingwood - Always nice to beat the yardstick Carlton - I despise that team North - Give Scott a real reason to whine.

Re-do the 2009 draft order 1 year on!

Sully/Trengove Scully/Martin Trengove/Martin I would have been happy with any combo. All will be very good footballers.

Would you sack Bailey if Melb don't make finals in 2011?

Yup. Clarkson is under pressure from that meathead Kennett so we have to sack Bailey to make the OP feel better? The constant message from the club is that we are trying to get games under the belt of the bulk of the team before we expect too much so as long as we don't start going badly...

    Will Geelong crumble in 2011?

Understood but it doesn't hurt to have a bit of a fortress. Will 6 their and you pick up another 8-9 elsewhere to be in the mix again. It might come down to the coaching mindset though - do you start blooding more kids this year to try for a flatter bottoming out or do you go hard again and risk...
  28. R

    Will Geelong crumble in 2011?

Agreed. Not forgetting that they have a pretty strong home ground advantage too.
  29. R

Re-do the 2009 draft order 1 year on!

Why would we be bitter? He wouldn't be in our best 22 and we got paid over the odds for him. If someone is going to raid your list that's how you want them to do is.
