Preview Rd 7 Geelong V Carlton Sat April 27 435 pm @ MCG

Great that we have signed up Holmes for 4 more years. His pace off the backline with long penetrating kicking to our forward's advantage has made a world of difference this year. It took some time, but finally the penny dropped with the coaching group that this is a good strategy.

Preview Cats V North Sun April 14 1pm @ GMHBA

Noticed him stretching his back on several occasions... clearly wasn't 100%.

Review Cats down Doggies by 4 points to go 4-0

Would have been a travesty if we lost that one... Henry and Stanley can breathe a sigh of relief for both missing from 30m straight in front to seal the deal. Midfield absolutely smashed but we are getting experience into this young group and that augurs well for the future. 4 zip with North to...

    Preview Rd 1 Geelong V StKilda Sat 16th Mar 2024 730pm @ GMHBA

Pretty hard to gauge what the initial lineup will be. It seems they were holding back a bit in the last practice match to give the Saints as little to analyze as possible (particularly stoppages). Not my preferred lineup, just a crack at the meat tray: B: Jake Kolodjashnij, Sam De Koning, Zach...

    Prediction 2024 Round 1 Team

We are an infinitely better team without the clutzy, turn-over merchants in Bews and Kolo. The sooner they are purged the better. JHenry replaces Kolo and Holmes replaces Bews down back. Bring in the fresh blood in Clark and Mannagh and we have a team that can contend again.

    Senior 14. Connor O'Sullivan (2023-)

Caddy can do some really nice stuff but is undersized and has the propensity to throw in a few WTF moments... happy we passed.

Preview Round 12: Bulldogs vs Cats, Sat 3 June @ 7:25pm - Superhero Stadium

If Bontempelli and English can be 'cooled' somewhat then we are a show. Expecting Shark to get Bont and it will be a combined effort from Cegs/Blitz on SpeakaNo.

On a positive note, it's pleasing that Bewsy has stood up during our injury crisis.

When asked at the post match presser whether the action warrants a suspension, Scott replied "yes it does"... Tend to agree.

Review Cats back in business after smashing Hawks by 82 points at the G

It was probably more about Jed Bews stopped playing... he has been putrid all year; even by his meagre standards

Autopsy Cats lose to Suns by 19 points

Still to win a game with SavRat in the team. No surprises there. :straining:

Autopsy Cats lose to Blues by 8 points.

Blicavs acknowledged that Sav struggled with judging the ball in flight. I'll take his first-hand, expert assessment. ;)

Autopsy Cats lose to Blues by 8 points.

Haha, not at all. We just don't have any bonafide key defenders other than SDK (and Blicavs). Sav simply isn't AFL standard.
  14. nohairandfair

Autopsy Cats lose to Blues by 8 points.

Sav doesn't read the flight of the ball well and is often caught out of position. The amount of times the ball found its way out the back due to misjudgment is a cardinal sin for a backman and we saw this multiple times tonight. Unfortunately he is all we have at the moment and that is on the...

Autopsy Cats lose to Blues by 8 points.

Our list management has something to answer for. Essentially no depth with key defenders is a massive fail. Ratugolea again, was directly responsible for a swag of Blues goals and out of 44 starting players was rated the second worse player on the ground. Other than Jezza's huge contribution...

Autopsy Cats lose to Pies by 22 points

We're not going to win too many games with Sav down back. Directly responsible for a swag of Pies goals with clumsy mistakes. Unfortunately he is not in possession of even basic footy acumen and his presence creates a nervous and static backline.

Teams 2023 Rate My Preseason Team

Pretty vanilla on this first iteration. There appears to be some value in Finn Callaghan, Nat Fyfe and Liam Jones but can't shoehorn them in as it stands. Have a gut feeling that Conor McKenna and Oskar Baker will be subs so haven't included them for the moment. Extremally thin down back and...

    Autopsy PRESEASON - Geelong v Brisbane Thursday Mar 2 2023, 710pm @Holmes Arena

Yep, like the one where Savrat buried his knee into the kidneys of Stewart (to spoil him) and then proceeded to drop the chest mark. His negatives are always going to outweigh any positives. We will struggle down back if Sav is a permanent fixture there... a first rate klutz.

Game Day Match Sim vs Hawthorn - Daz can’t be effed making a new one

Bruhn was BOG for mine and if he wasn't winning it in tight, he was laying huge tackles. There’s a good chance he will become our #1 inside mid in 2023. A nice combination of grunt and class... what a pickup.

    Preview 2023 Pre-Season discussion

It would be miraculous if Sav could transform himself into a legitimate KPD. After six years in the system, his footy smarts and disposal have shown little improvement and are nowhere near AFL standard.

News New Irish Recruit - Oisin Mullin...2022 edition

We haven't had a bona fide attacking small defender for years. Very encouraging that the coaches (and Tuohy) are talking up how good he 'technically' is by foot.

Game Day 2022 AFL Draft thread.....

He has a very simple, relaxed kicking action and is apparently a dead-eye... he may be better developed up forward.

Not sure on what criteria you can possibly ascertain it was a mistake. Gold Coast themselves rated Bowes elite as a defender. https://www.goldcoastfc.com.au/news/821133/season-review-jack-bowes-thrives-in-defence
