Great that we have signed up Holmes for 4 more years. His pace off the backline with long penetrating kicking to our forward's advantage has made a world of difference this year. It took some time, but finally the penny dropped with the coaching group that this is a good strategy.

We are an infinitely better team without the clutzy, turn-over merchants in Bews and Kolo. The sooner they are purged the better. JHenry replaces Kolo and Holmes replaces Bews down back. Bring in the fresh blood in Clark and Mannagh and we have a team that can contend again.

Caddy can do some really nice stuff but is undersized and has the propensity to throw in a few WTF moments... happy we passed.

Haha, not at all. :smile: We just don't have any bonafide key defenders other than SDK (and Blicavs). Sav simply isn't AFL standard.

Sav doesn't read the flight of the ball well and is often caught out of position. The amount of times the ball found its way out the back due to misjudgment is a cardinal sin for a backman and we saw this multiple times tonight. Unfortunately he is all we have at the moment and that is on the...

We're not going to win too many games with Sav down back. Directly responsible for a swag of Pies goals with clumsy mistakes. Unfortunately he is not in possession of even basic footy acumen and his presence creates a nervous and static backline.

Yep, like the one where Savrat buried his knee into the kidneys of Stewart (to spoil him) and then proceeded to drop the chest mark. His negatives are always going to outweigh any positives. We will struggle down back if Sav is a permanent fixture there... a first rate klutz.

Bruhn was BOG for mine and if he wasn't winning it in tight, he was laying huge tackles. There’s a good chance he will become our #1 inside mid in 2023. A nice combination of grunt and class... what a pickup.

It would be miraculous if Sav could transform himself into a legitimate KPD. After six years in the system, his footy smarts and disposal have shown little improvement and are nowhere near AFL standard.

We haven't had a bona fide attacking small defender for years. Very encouraging that the coaches (and Tuohy) are talking up how good he 'technically' is by foot.

He has a very simple, relaxed kicking action and is apparently a dead-eye... he may be better developed up forward.
