Some Crazy Portland 'Jail' Blazers stories

What about the Qyntel Woods arrest when he showed his rookie trading card as ID when pulled over by Police... 2004 - My personal favorite, Qyntel Woods gets pulled over for drunk/high driving, and then things just get silly. From the USA Today: "Portland Trail Blazers forward Qyntel...

    Your 3km time trial??

So 4 laps of an athletics track in 4.55? That's not bad - about 4.35-4.38 for 1500, I reckon you wouldn't be too far from 10:30, or perhaps quicker. If you end up running 11 minutes for 3K based on your 4.55 mile, you've either got zero endurance or you don't really know what you're capable of.

    Your 3km time trial??

Not bad - it was a pretty good course, although the 5K marker was clearly short. Good luck with the C2S, it's a ripper run according to those I know who've done it.

    Exercise/Running decreases stress?

all the time - for us non-elite athletes & sportspeople, it's our release. Fat people are most prominent when we think of "whingers", aren't they? Maybe the thread title means something...

    To all the dope smokers.......

No more "chicken" for me, but company was always better than spliffing up on your own. It's always more fun sharing your absurd s**t with someone else and then laughing at it after four minutes of stoned silence when you ask the other/s "what were we all talking about?" As for being at the...

Food, Drink & Dining Out What did you cook for dinner last night?

A chilli & tomato sausage casserole. Chilli & Tomato sausages, capsicum, onions, tomato, 3 bean mix, corn, sweet potatoes, beans & carrot, with a packet mix Chilli Con Carne sachet. Served on steamed rice. Even the missus didn't mind it :thumbsu:. Being school holidays, I have to cook as...

    Defensive matchups vs St Kilda

Whoever ends up on Jason Gram needs to be just as worried about stopping him running the ball out as they do kicking goals. He's as big a concern as the tall timber up forward - I don't recall seeing him play many bad games when the Saints are on the box. Also, don't forget Harvey. 99 years...

    Can you swim??

Crap swimmer, and it annoys the s**t out of me. I love the water, but once I get in it and work on forward momentum, I'm "technically deficient", thrashing around like a washing machine. Having a runner's build probably doesn't help. I've been planning on adult classes for a while, but it hasn't...

    Your 3km time trial??

Your soccer background is a big plus crazyman - join an aths club during the summer and with a decent coach at your club you can watch your track times plummet. A young dude who played soccer up to 18 (he's now 20) at our aths club was running low 9's and even cracked 9 once or twice, and he...

What Does Sport Mean to You?

Competition, testing one limits in a physical and mental capacity and it's the only decent thing on Channel 9 (and even then they have mongoloids such as Chappell, Greig, Lyon, Brayshaw et al doing their utmost to kill our enjoyment of sport). Sport's brilliant, as it brings together...

Never had "ceddar" cheese on a sub, but I'm sure it's OK;) Overall 7.5 out of 10, loses points for the white bread (italian cheese & herbs), no jalapenos and 1000 island (honey mustard). Solid meal nonetheless. OK, here goes: Home made pita-based pizza, cooked on ceramic stone on the...

    Most hated genre of music?

Turn the work radio off and piss off your colleagues - simple. This nonsense is only played on commercial stations so clearly you're listening to the wrong stations. Better still, change it to independent radio stations - you might find music that is less palatable to you than Top 40 music, but...

odd places to have a beer

    1. The shower. I was at the bottleshop after training this evening and the dude at the shop, in the flow of conversation, brought up having a beer in the shower. He was living up on the border (ie Murray River region) and when it got stinking hot he'd just run the shower, jump under and crack...

    BMW 1 Series (hatchback)

Get the young'uns in early - the <insert elite girls' school> girls just getting onto their P's, who will graduate to 3 series on their 21st and X5's when they have kids, are square in BMW's sights. It's not the sort of car to appeal to CUB's, but they're targeting those who'll eventually...

    Favourite Beer

Young's Chocolate Stout. First time in a while I've had a beer and gone "fwooooah". I'd just left the Fed Square Microbrews Showcase (3 Ravens Uber Black is the s**t!), and missed a train, so off to Transport. The girl recommended the Young's, so I gave it a go, and without a doubt, there's a...

Serj Tankian - The Unthinking Majority

Yeah, Unthinking Majority is a cracker. Empty Walls isn't too shabby. Has anyone heard the song called "Charades"? He did it as part of the Axis of Justice - it's pretty much piano and Tourettes rolled into one, but it too is pretty darn good.

    Your 3km time trial??

Simon, if he's only running mid 9's for the 3K he'd be pretty knackered after his "warm-up" of 10 min 3K's. Either that or he's capable of quicker on the track. I've run 9:44 on the track twice in the past 3 weeks (got lapped in both races by a guy running 8:20 & 8:33 in those races) but I'm...

    Traithlon Training

Sounds like the swim will be easy for you...lucky you. As seanoff mentioned, "brick" sessions are the way to go. The heavy legs you get confuse the body in transition and they need to re-adapt to a new motion. What are your goals for the race? If you just want to get through it, enjoy the...
