Big old-school bump on this one. Does anyone have any updates on the completion of pre-1965 behinds tallies research? Feels like we've been talking about them being uploaded for 10 years. Thanks in advance!

I managed to find an example of how a stats sheet looked in Footy Week during 1965. This is from the Round 13 game between Fitzroy and Footscray.
The numbers match up with what's on AFL Tables, which is no surprise. But what's fascinating to me is the data that's been left behind – stuff like...
Almost certainly the methodology changed. I'm curious as to where AFL Tables etc. sourced their pre-1999 data (1999 being the year that Champion Data came on board).
I'm guessing the 1965 era stuff came from Footy Week. This particular issue below would probably contain the answer...
I know you're being facetious, but my position on shorts has never changed, and that has always been that they should be at the discretion of the league, whereas guernseys should be at the discretion of the home club. The league can figure out the best way to minimise a clash with the guernseys...
If I may nitpick on the Pies one, the back artwork seems to be positioned differently.
And this probably applies to all the Pies / Emirates jumpers of the last ten years or so, but the padding and colouring is a bit off on that back logo (same goes to the KFC logo too).
Sorry!
I think we can all agree on that point about the jumper looking good / being traditional / avoiding clashes, while still agreeing that the home side shouldn't have to acquiesce...
Bump. The issue with Nike's poor turnaround times and stock levels is that the number of fake Pies jumpers have skyrocketed over the last couple of years, as people simply want the opportunity to wear what the players are wearing.
The downside is they look s**t. Yes, they've improved, but it's...
A Blues 160th anniversary heritage jumper will be released in July, ahead of the Rd 22 game against Hawthorn in which it will be worn.

I can't remember which thread I saw this in on BF (if at all) but thought I would repost it here. Well done to those involved, including our very own 35Daicos.

Checking out the Wikipedia edit history for...
Per some recent chat on this board about first kick/first goal achievers and the potential missed cases along the years.
With that in mind, is anyone able to generate a full list of players who kicked 1 goal or more on their debut?
And/or for post-1965, a list of players who kicked 1 goal or...
I went to go and make the changes on Wikipedia now and there are a few 'hidden' cases on there which can only be seen when in edit mode.
WIKIPEDIA 'HIDDEN' CASES (not on AFL master list)
David Flood - Ess - R8, 1986
Daryl Griffiths - StK - R9, 1963
Tim O'Brien - Haw - R1, 2014 (confirmed in...
Thanks mate. That's extremely helpful. I've crosschecked the Wikipedia list and the AFL's list above, with the following results...
WIKIPEDIA MISSING:
Callum Brown - GWS - R21, 2021
Chris Burgess - GC - R1, 2019
Ian George - StK - R8, 1973
Max King - StK - R1, 2020
Brendan Littler - StK - R20...
Nice work guys.
Amazingly, those two cases means we now hit exactly 300 recognised cases of the feat taking place.
Wiki will need to be updated: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_VFL/AFL_players_to_have_scored_a_goal_with_their_first_kick
My first thought with the silhouette was 'stock image', but I actually think it may be a vectorised overlay... it's just that the vectorisation is really poor. It looks like someone has just run an auto-trace and called it a day. Lines missing for no reason, a random boxy chunk out of the guy on...
With respect, this is a bit of a mindboggling argument and I'm not sure why you're so touchy about it. I'm going to leave it up for the sake of it being a bit of a self-own considering Craegus has been here just about longer than any of us. He's certainly not a "blow-in" or anything like that...
Chat about this round's games here. I thought tonight's Saints v Dogs was a prime example of needlessly introducing white to a kit where it doesn't have any. The Dogs in all blue would have made for a much nicer look. While the match-up wasn't a clash, it wasn't necessarily a contrast either.
