    Just had a partial meniscectomy....

You were lucky mine was torn where it wouldn't repair itself and surgery couldn't repair it either because no blood could get to it. Had to get it removed.

    Just had a partial meniscectomy....

I had arthroscopic knee surgery 2 weeks ago to remove part of a torn lateral meniscus. I want to get back into sport ASAP. Has anyone had one of these before and can tell me how the best exercises to do? Is there any chance I can be running around again in a month? Thanks.

Is your trainer a qualified doctor/physio? If not I suggest you go see one.

    Knee problems

You shouldn't be playing with a torn cartilage. The tear could easily expand and once you get it fixed you could end up with no cartilage if enough of it is torn. A physio or orthopedic surgeon will do the Mcmurray's test. Type it into youtube and you should be able to do it yourself and this is...

    Knee problems

I tore my lateral meniscus (cartilage) in my knee a few months ago. The symptoms I got were - Felt like lower hamstring pain, after exercise it hurt to walk, get in and out of cars but this is all because of the bending of the leg. An orthopedic surgeon or a physio will be able to give you an...

Field Hockey more dangerous than Australian Rules Footy?

You would be much more susceptible to freak injuries in hockey by getting hit with the ball or stick but in Australian rules you get more muscle and tendon injuries. Soccer is the worst for lower body injuries.

    Knee Injruy..

It is impossible to tell just by asking these questions however sounds like it could be an ACL tear. No popping sound usually indicates no ACL however it doesn't always occur.

    Knee Injruy..

Was the swelling there immediately after the impact? Any pop sound?

    Knee Injruy..

Pain on the outside of the knee, or lateral aspect of the knee joint, is commonly caused by lateral meniscus tears. Is there any swelling?

    Groin injury/Osteitis Pubis

Work on pilates. The reason people usually get groin injuries is they do not have a strong enough core for the rest of their body.

    Knee Pains - just growing?

If there is a lump just below your knee cap it is oscar schlatters. What I have is a torn cartilage in my knee.

    Knee Pains - just growing?

Cheers. Anyway I can point to the exact spot on my knee where the pain is and it feels like there is a slight lump there as well. Also the pain is on the lower part of the knee so having something from the thigh I wouldn't think was likely.

    Knee Pains - just growing?

I've got this and at the ages of about 12-15 it is terrible. So much pain and you can't do anything about it. Anyway I currently have pain on the outside of my knee which I've had for over a month now and it doesn't seem to be improving. I had an x-ray and ultrasound but they couldn't find...
