Mundy

Mundy was good in the first two quarters, but like usual he went missing in the second half and we almost lost the game again. Did anyone take note of the third and forth quarters from carlton and how easily they won it out of the middle? Remind you of a another team which did the same thing a few weeks ago at Subi and beat us? His fitness is a joke. The supporters who can only see the good things players do are a cancer on true discussion.
MUNDY ALL AUST SQUAD
Please now STFU:rolleyes:

Give it up Memories. Your name is mud now.

Fremantle midfielder David Mundy is likely to become one of the club's highest-paid players if he commits to a new deal after being named yesterday in his first All-Australian squad.

It is understood that several Melbourne-based clubs had expressed interest in the versatile Docker when clubs and managers held unofficial talks at the national under-16 titles in Sydney earlier in the year, but they were concerned about his potentially high price. Mundy has not been linked to the Gold Coast as a possible out-of-contract signing

I notice the article puts Pav on the veterans list next year, got brought up in another thread that it's not till 2012. Anyone know for sure?

Pav's bday is 31/12 and the AFL site list's the rule as needing to turn 30 before Sept 30th of that year. Not that they can't play with the contract either way loading it towards year 2 and 3 of a 3 year contract (or can they?) but if we improve anywhere near as much as most Freo fans are hoping over the next season or two that salary cap could start getting a bit tight.

Adelaide got an end of round 1 selection for Nathan Bock from the AFL. Surely we'd get that, if not more than that (Mundy is young and in All Australian form) if Mundy were to be poached.

so apart from the actual draft picks diluting this years drafts there is potentially a further x compensation picks further diluting the draft.

My guess, no clubs will use them this year anyway, The draft's diluted enough as it is.

Can you trade a compensation pick? and if so does the club getting it also get to elect when to use it, or does it "crystalize" to that year?

Did anyone catch Mundy's second half fade out again? Good in the first half but has trouble running out games. Thankfully two hawks midfielders were injured (what I said we needed to happen to get a win) and Hodge was hobbling around so it wasn't so obvious...but jeez.

How could that one legged hawthorn side get to within 20 points of us in the last quarter? Midfield needs a kick up the ass in regards to fitness training.

Mundy was best on ground in the Elimination final. :thumbsu:

Our abysmal inside 50 kicking is what let the Hawks back in but they were never gonna catch us.

Maybe he was slightly the best player, but our team performed very evenly. Broughton would almost be the best player for us also.

However if the Hawks weren't 3 players down they would have beat us in the last quarter. And if they had won the best player on the ground would have clearly been Mitchell/Burgoyne. If you can't see that we consistently fade out of games then there is no help for you or any other supporter.

Mundy is the oldest guy in our midfield and apparently the guy on the big bucks doing it. He can't put in 2.5 quarters and then call it done for the game, either increase his fitness or stop playing 4 quarters in there. The coaches need to wake up to this.

The two quarters that we dominated, Mundy was involved in everything. First and Third I think he had about 16 disposals. Last quarter he couldn't get a hand on it really, but neither could anyone else like the week before. Not having Sandi in the centre certainly didn't help. Did his job defensively well as well. Superstar of the team.
