A sad day as our lone survivor of the 1944 team is gone today.

Today Clen leaves us to celebrate the 44 Fitzroy flag with his team mates once again!

Make a noise Roy Boys.

Vale Clen Denning!

Obviously not knowing Clen, when I heard the news on SEN tonight I didn't know what to do, who to tell or who to speak to so I thought I'd pay the BF a visit and sure enough, you're all on the ball here so the only thing I can do now is pay my respects to the last conduit to our last ever premiership.

Vale Clen and may you line up with your mates in heaven and give Captain Blood another clip over the ear for them!

RIP all of the Fitzroy 1944 Premiership Team and all other players.

The loss hits home TTT...........as Roy Boys we must acknowledge the sadness that he was the last of our champs of 44 to go!

I met Clen a couple of times. He loved telling about how he knocked Jack Dyer over in the '44 Grand Final.

It is my theory that no-one completely dies, as long as they remain in the thoughts of others. All the old Royboys are still alive in the pages of BigFooty.
