Sweden came out of nowhere to force Russia to OT then rolled them...given Kuznetsov made his name masterminding all of Russia's come-from-behind wins last year it's kind of ironic he did sweet FA as it happened to his team this time around.

Aleksander Barkov just set a new record for youngest goal scorer, beating Crosby. This kid obviously has a giant amount of talent. He's only 16, so not eligible til 2013, but is playing in the SM-Liiga already AND has 12 points. To put that into perspective, Markus Granlund who is 2 years older has just 16 points in 4 more games. He's also 6ft 2 and 93kg at 16! Far out.

Finland leading Sweden 2-0 after 2. It's live on ES for anyone who didn't know.

Finland playing very physical, Sweden have dominated most of the game but find themselves in a real hole.

Finland, to be expected, choke it away. Terrible giveaway by the goalie with 2 minutes remaining in the 3rd.

Nice shootout attempt by Mikael Granlund, oh wait...

*shrug* That just means Canadians have very short memories. Yeah, he doesn't score in every game he plays - but he had 32 points in 44 games for Traktor last year, and is on track for a similar performance this year. More to the point, he was pretty consistent over Russia's run last year and was one of the most important players on the ice in the gold medal game.

The Calgary dole queue just got longer.

The Saddledome fool on the microphone introduced Pat Quinn as Pat Burns during a 1st period ceremony of past Canadian "heroes" in world-junior tournaments.

Just watched the highlights of the Russia/Canada game. I know they are kids but the amount of goals at the back post from cross crease passes is pretty terrible. Was almost an epic comeback by Canada. Not sure what happened to the Russian goalie with eleven minutes to go. He just went horribly cold.

Should be a good final. Back to the 90's in senior hockey when it was Russia and Sweden dominating.

Sweden beats Russia 1-0 in an OT thriller.

Mika Zibanejad scores the winner.

Stars prospect Patrick Nemeth forced a turnover on defense and assisted on the goal. Nemeth had a great tournament and great overtime period today. Stars are excited about him, as jack Campbell had a disappointing tournament it was great to see two young Defenseman in Nemeth and Oleksiak play well.
