Welcome to the 2014 Big Footy Dynasty Ultimate Footy Off Season List Management Thread - BFDUFOSLMT for short!

- The draft will be held in late January after UF release the player positions and we are able to run it online, as is tradition.

- I will put the draft order (with all the pretty colours) up in the next day or two. UC, we need to sort out who our 14th coach will be after the departure of StAnselm.

- Minimum of 2 (two) list changes per league rules. This can be achieved via trades, participation in the draft isn't compulsory.

- I wont automatically cut retirees/delisted players. They will stay on your list until the final lodgement a couple of weeks before the draft. This is just in case someone changes their mind and makes a late comeback or gets a reprieve as a delisted free agent.

- Players highlighted in RED have annouced their retirement. Players highlighted in BLUE have been delisted. I will use this - http://www.afl.com.au/news/features/retirements-and-delistings - I will update lists each night. Per my last point, I wont delist anyone until the coach here makes it official.

- If your list is over the cap of 45 come final lodgement then I will delist the excess players starting from the lowest predicted UF ranking.

- Im happy for people to start posting trades/delistings if everyone is ready to go. Just make sure to tag me in the post so that I can get things updated ASAP. Also make sure you don't make all your moves before the new coach signs up. Poor Padlocks was left hanging last year...

Team LWP pick up - Lachie Plowman, Michael Talia, Angus Litherland and Picks 34 + 48

TenderWarriors pick up - Ben Kennedy and Picks 15 + 57

tenderwarrior has been asking about Kennedy since I got him and last night I finally broke haha Kennedy has been a ball magnet in the VFL but hasn't been able to translate it to any kind of AFL impact. While he has been the sub a few times he seems to be stuck playing mostly as a forward under Buckley. I expect him to improve but I also expect that from the players I'm getting back.

Lachie Plowman was earmarked as the next breakout player for GWS by coach Leon Cameron on the weekend. His running game on Sunday night was excellent and I think that, going into his third season, the Giants are finally working out that he's not going to be a KPD. Cameron has had Plowman working with Cam McCarthy and Adam Tomlinson in an experimental program to try and turn the 3 of them into a squad of gigantic midfielders. Lachie has finished the season strong and looks set to lock a spot on the hbf opposite Curtly Hampton.

Michael Talia had a poor year stats wise but I put that down to a change of role. With Bob Murphy going into defence Talia wasnt able to play as the intercept marking prospect he became in 2013. He has spent a year in the VFl working on his one on one game and I expect him to take over that tall marking CHB position in the next year or two.

Angus Litherland could well play in a flag this year. He has shown a decent knack for reading the ball and (like all Hawthorn defenders) uses the ball well going forward. With the likes of Hodge, Gibson, Mitchell and lake set to retire in the coming years I'm backing Litherland in to cement a spot in the back 6 and really ramp up his fantasy game.

Overall I'm weary of letting a potential gun in Kennedy go but from a list perspective I'm going to be crying out for reliable defenders next year. Even being optimistic I think I'll only have about 10 on my list before this trade so getting a core group of young, stat getting backs is a good deal at this point.

I'll update the team lists in a couple of hours. Will also have the draft order posted.

L_W_P does a good job of making me doubt the value of the trade from my end!

I agree with what he has written though, he has received some pretty promising young backs, all of who should remain backs too - which makes them a valuable commodity.

Hopefully it is a win/win trade. L_W_P improves his Back depth, and area he has identified as needing, and with players that all could potentially become best 22 for him over the next few years. He has also added a few mid draft picks, that will be valuable to him to use in the draft or as trade fodder over the off-season.

I add another promising forward/mid to my squad, an area lacking in a little depth for me, and a very handy draft pick that I am happy to bank, or on-trade for the right deal. I also make a bit of room to my squad for new players, whether they be draft picks or player trades.

I also get a safety net of Pick 57 to add to my Pick 62 to use in the event of me getting 'trade happy' and needing to hit the draft late!

Even with the 3 players ive brought in I can still only be confident in having about 10 players listed as backs beyond next year.

On the flip side I have 24 forwards....

I'd say delist on here like in previous seasons. Then when UF opens up again next season we'll set the lists up as per previous seasons.

Or are we not counting finals results for the top 8?

We don't count consolidation finals, so technically Raiders and Maroons knocked out first week, but Rockford finishes higher based on ladder position, just like the AFL

So the game for 7th between Rockford and Maroons doesn't count, as their year is already done.

Same with Dragons does that make sense?
