Chapman has already said he will see out his term, and I would bet the AFL will reappoint Roo at his term ending
Roo will take a step back, He is upset about the Crows performance and about his part in it.
Hopefully, he will still stay on the board, but he needs to take note of the negative and Postive feedback he has received and improve. He made mistakes, but he is one person we need on the board, someone who bleeds for the club, just keep him away from the day to day.

I believe his role is more about developing differant platform for the clubs media group, ie crows show,
The HR group is responable for what is released comments,
Lol, HR would have nothing to do with our media messaging.

Most organisation HR or whatever they call themselves today, run the public voice. they dictate the tone and speech,
No they don't.

Most large organistions have a media & communications unit, which normally report through to the CEO.

I always thought Shutts was just the coordinator rather than the maker of policy? Whoever it is, they need a complete rethink about how they approach PR. It has been very poor for the last two years.
Agree.

I don't think that's the case at all. "Most organisations" would run their marketing / PR through a specialist operation - internally, or using an external advisor / consultant. HR are no more relevant to that than finance. If an organisation is using HR for their PR, then either they've got the PR specialist within the HR team (why would you do that?) or they're not doing it right.

Now, what's happening with the AFC (and it's not good) could be a result of any or all of a number of factors:

- The guy in the seat (i.e. Shutts in this case) isn't very good at the role;
- He is good at his role, but the people he's supposed to be leading in this, won't be led because "they know best" and they won't be told what to say.

I suspect it's a combination of those. I have no idea whether Shutts is any good or not, but it does strike me he's more of a media release writer than an actual PR professional, but at the same time - and I've seen this in other places - sometimes big egos will be all like "he reports to us, we tell him what to say, not vice versa, we know what we're doing, we don't need media training, we'll be the cats that the poor PR guy has to herd".

No, Chapman said he will finish within a year rather than completing his 3 year term.

Whether he can be believed is another thing entirely.

My money is on Roo leaving before Chapman. Roo has shown he can crack under pressure, whereas "Teflon" Chapman is happy to throw others under the bus.
Roo has been asked to reduce his commitments. What will make way? Won't be MMM.

I think jenny61_99 has been unfairly criticised
Especially of late as she has questioned a lot and stuck by her guns in regards to various AFC appointments
Sometimes she has had to regurgitate the stuff x 10 times as to what she said
None of you Alpha males read sometimes
No one listens
I do

Whatever they call themselves today do play a vital role in setting the tone, always have, and we're not talking about that HR guy in the 3rd office on the 2nd floor, we are talking about the person in the office next to the CEO the one who in their ear on what to say to get the same message across the organisation and further.

Seriously how old are you?

Younger than you, but hold enough to understand that if I'm going to act as self appointed censor on the board I should exhibit better self control myself.

I'm not quite sure what "agenda" it is that you think I have?

Jenny, come on now. We're not really going to act like I'm new to your postings are we?

Please show me anywhere that I've said: I am the happiest woman in the world or that I am better than you? Also, if that's the message you take out of what I say, then that's on you buddy. If I've complained in here about something... I've also vocalised that to the club via email. I guess I'm just not the sort of person that automatically assumes the worst in any situation.

Prove you say things like that? Are you for real? Read your own postings in the thread. It's a repeat theme from you, and has been for some time now

It's the only perceivable purpose you could have in continuously trying to label yourself 'happy' in contrast to others being 'misery guts' and the like. You believe that taking this line both shines a positive light on you, and can be used as a pejorative against other posters.

The problem is: if unhappiness with the state of our football club is a pejorative in your mind, then trying to claim that you share that unhappiness when it is convenient becomes unsustainable.

I AM a real critic? Or I'm not... make up your mind. Like many in here, I had set a base level of change that I would accept before deciding on level of renewal. I'm not sure why I deserve criticising for that? It's not a lucky coincidence at all, I had verbalised that long before it happened.

Sarcasm. Your participation in criticism has always pretty transparently been an attempt at being inside the car to place brakes rather than a genuine insurrection.

"Yes, I agree that we needed some change- but what they've given is exactly what was required and its time to stop complaining and back them in!"

"I just want my echo chamber to keep repeating my biases back to me."
Why don't the people that think everything is s**t just start a thread where they can say that to each other all day? Especially considering that EC wants the posters who disagree with him to just shut up.
Kind of the same thing if you want it the other way isn't it?

On another note, next Friday is the last day for trades prior to the draft right? Not that I expect anyone to trade but maybe we'll begin to get a clearer idea of what clubs are trying to pull off.

Aren’t you the one saying we shouldn’t question the club like we did with the senior assistant bullshit? Calling us miserable?
Where did I say you shouldn’t question the club? Fair dinkum you buggers make stuff up. I called you miserable because you are! Well at least, that’s how you come across in here.

You mean the GM of Media? Like everyone has been telling you for the last two pages? Shutts runs the messaging.
