That backhander against the Russians was very Crosby-esque. He looks good. There is a new Connor on the horizon.

Good start by Koskinen against Vancouver... no idea why he got pulled. Must have been the 0 SV% on 4 shots.
Yeah, was a weird one giving him that contract based off low sample size and ordinary stats. His meltdown was pretty funny. Also the fact that the commentators mentioned at the end of the period that Smith had more assists than Koskinen had saves.
He really is no good though. Hope he doesn’t get played much going forward.
Martin Jones is available...I remember rumours at trade deadline that we might be getting Merzlikins. Wish we did.
Ah well, guess we’ll trust a 39 year old keeper (who has been very solid to be fair).
Terrible loss and has pretty much finished our chances of winning the East. Looking most likely now to meet Boston in the first round
I put money on Bruins yesterday and Flyers today. Caps and Rangers were always gonna be flat after last game.
Got a few missing through injury but so has everyone else. Just played really poorly and Vitek looked to be standing in treacle today. We have been off for a little while now and not the ideal time to lose your formMore excuses than you could throw a stick at watching the Capitals’ post game show. Impressive...
And lastly, we have the climax to this philosophy of Jim Benning's: the infamous Jared McCann & pick 33 & pick 94 for Erik Gudbranson and pick 140 trade, in the middle of the 2015-16 playoffs. The back story for this, as laid out by the late Jason Botchford and half confirmed by Benning, was that the Florida Panthers, briefly free of Dale Tallon, ruthlessly targeted Vancouver. The new Panthers management knew Gudbranson was ****. They wanted him gone (as part of a bigger plan to free up cap space to offer sheet Nikita Kucherov which didn't happen). They knew Vancouver would bite, and they knew they could get a prospect and picks too. It's actually one of the most brilliant trades in NHL history imo, just completely exploiting the stupidity of another GM. Even if Gudbranson was traded for a 6th round pick, it would have been a win for Florida, but to get solid draft capital and a good prospect?! Sadly for the Panthers, Dale Tallon was put back in charge of Florida, built a powerhouse line for the Vegas team through stupidity and then traded McCann to Pittsburgh in a terrible trade for the Panthers (as I recall), so the cool move ended up doing nothing for Florida. McCann has been a solid player for the Pens, and I know has been in the points recently, because the Vancouver fans report every single success McCann has. The fans used to report every failure of Gudbranson, but at a certain point it just got sad.
Probably so Laine will turn up to training campTorts is goneski
Pretty big late goal today for Colorado to get the 2-1 win over vegas.
More than that, if we win 2 more times against LAK, we take the West div and Presidents TrophyPretty big late goal today for Colorado to get the 2-1 win over vegas.
Now control their fate for the division and Presidents trophy. Finish with 2 vs LA. 2 wins and they get home ice through playoffs.
