I'm making an early call on Tyler Sonsie. Apparently he has come back tearing it apart and he owes the club after his bad 3 game suspension in the VFL late last year. Should be about $165k one to watch if Yze gives him games early.

fingers crossed we get some good dpp additions during the year

pretty spoiled last season in that dunkley, taranto, butters, rozee, gulden and coniglio were all available from the beginning of the season and were priced at good value
 
I actually love it, it's old-school, not like the last few years where we've had 100-120 averaging pure mids. Obviously the DPP additions will make it easier, but at least it's not straightforward going into the season.
 
Preseason watch at the Saints for Owens and Phillipou, to see is either are getting bulk midfield time.

Same as the above, but at the Crows and with Rachele and Pedlar.

Another preseason watch is Humphrey bear at the Suns. Looks like a star in the making, might be way too early though.

Bazlenka in a contract year is a :padlock:.

Harley Reid is obviously a :padlock:.

Tom Lynch is a :padlock: if he lines up in round 1.

I'll likely only take one of Macrae or Flanders.


So that leaves me with:
F1 Macrae/Flanders
F2 Bazlenka
F3 speculative pick?

His last 5 games went 96.4 and last 3 games at 104.7 at Freo:padlock:

Adams at Sydney too. Doubt he's moved to play hff.

Not the best looking list at first glance. Rookie options pending, might be an opportunity to spend on that extra couple of midpricers/premos in DEF and/or MID with the view to waiting until DPP changes to bring the FWDs up to scratch.
Of course, that idea goes out the window if there are bugger-all rookie options up FWD and plenty in the MID/DEF area.
 
Expecting Harley to go 60s to high 70s for his first year. FWD rookies I can see probably round 1 barring injury. Cooper Simpson, Shaun Mannagh, Jack Delean, Will Lorenz, Caleb Windsor, & Darcy Wilson.

Nope. Forward rookies are typically the worst scoring. If you have 3 cheapies on field, most playing as small forwards/half forwards, they could pump out 20s and 30s on the regular, then get dropped.

We might have to field some rooks, Mannagh should be fieldable if he plays R1. If the premo/mid pricer forward quality isn't there then I'd cop 50s from a rook. We had Noah Long, Chandler, JVR, Ryan to name a few. There might be a floor game but also some of them can put up ceiling games. Rather this than pick someone in the 200/300s I'm not certain on.
