On the spot with Jaryd Cachia :hearts:

The 22-year-old is making the most of his second coming at Carlton, putting his heart and soul into training.
It’s showing on the field – in Friday’s clash with Hawthorn he picked up 22 disposals.

Who was your sporting hero growing up?
It would have to be Wayne Carey, because he’s the king.

If you had to cook to impress someone, what would you make?

I like cooking up a stir fry with chicken, vegies, a bit of a satay sauce in there, some noodles as well. It’s pretty tasty.

What is your favourite place that you’ve visited on holiday?

Monte Carlo because it was just so beautiful – such an amazing place. I also won money at the casino, so that’s probably why I have great memories there.

What is your number one fashion tip?

No jeans and runners. Jeans should never go with runners. I like to wear a casual pair of shoes, thongs or loafers, but never runners.

What are you listening to on your iPod?

I actually don’t have any music on my iPod. I do listen to music, but I try to borrow someone else’s – I’m not really tech savvy. But when I listen to music, it’s a mix of everything

When you’re not at the Club what do you get up to?

Just relaxing, and getting the body right for the next training session. I also love going to the movies – I love my movies. (favourite movie?) Goodfellas. :thumbsu:

Jaryd not getting comfortable

“I don’t want to ever get complacent,” Cachia said after training at Visy Park this week. “Mick’s always been on to us about not getting complacent and he has been on to me for the past 11 games about not getting too comfortable.

Terrific attitude from a young player who continues to impress at senior level. :thumbsu:

At VFL level he did show some leadership & his work ethic couldn't be questioned. I think he will be a very good leader for the Tigers & it is a bit disappointing he isn't filling this role at the Northern Blues.

i Know. Though I can understand it.
It would be wierd training and playing with Carlton players knowing that you have not made the cut and that the young kids are being groomed for the same position you would play.
Better to go to another team, start fresh.
Of the players who nolonger play for us this year, he was the one I miss the most

When Scotland retired I thought he would have been retain. Honestly he was unfortunate to have been injured when he was. Best of luck to him in the vfl.

I thought he would be involved in some capacity down at Northern. They were grooming him for a role.

"CACHIA RETURNS TO THE PARADE29/09/2015 1:38:03 PM

The Norwood Football club is pleased to announce that Jaryd Cachia will return to the Club for the 2016 and 2017 seasons.

Jaryd; a crowd favourite in 2012 helped the Club win its first Premiership since 1997 with his fierce desire for the contest and all round ball use earning him the reputation of one of the best midfielders in the SANFL.

Cach left the club in 2013 after being re-drafted by the Carlton Football Club playing 14 AFL games in 2013 & 2014 before moving to the Richmond VFL side in 2015, where he captained the Tigers.

The Club is extremely excited to have Jaryd and his family back and we look forward to his contribution both on & off the field over the coming seasons."
