Yeah I had a feeling something wasn't right. Tried to look in the options for an aim assist setting but there's nothing there so it must not exist.

Brain dead move from DICE for a crossplay game.

I'm not a console player but I've heard lots of talk about the aim assist - because apparently using a controller on a PC for whatever reason is also meant to grant aim assist. So it sounds like it definitely should be there. Are we sure it wasnt excluded from this early build like the commo rose was?

Is it cross play between consoles and PC or just between consoles? If with PC, no aim assist is a massive disadvantage to console players!
Ps5 is cross play with PC and series sx.

If you turn it off you get hardly any players and bots.

haven't played a game that runs this s**t in a long time...everything set to low plus turning resolution from 1440p to 720p and still barely cracks 50fps and dips into 20's randomly.. I know it's a beta and my PC is getting on but wtf that is god tier bad

and it just felt really boring for us. no one communicating, everyone just running around randomly getting kills, zero teamwork or strategy, s**t map, vehicles just irritating to deal with. granted I'm not a big BF fan (played 1942/vietnam religiously, but have only played BF1 since then) but just wasn't fun in the slightest for me. at least I know that for free i guess!

Yeah I was really struggling. Couldn't find a good sensitivity to put it on at all.

Just went to the Battlefield 2042 sub reddit. There is about 5 topics complaining about there being no aim assist. I've never had this much of an issue of aiming playing in previous Battlefield games. It was the first thing I noticed and know we have to play against PC players.

What specs you running?
Even making my pc sweat. Think the poor old girl is due for an update.
Dont necessarily think it's badly optimised, though being an old beta build won't help it could just be the next level of tech coming through.

This is a good summary of the current state. Definitely considering cancelling my pre-order.

Mostly valid points but the guy didn't seem to recognise the beta build we all played is already several months old.
Also made reference to missing or 'broken' features which were disclosed in advance not to appear in the beta.

I get the point of a pre-release beta and I'm sure they'll get some useful data from it but the financial hit from the backlash must be significant.

He explicitly mentions the version is a few months old several times.

Will have to look up what was disclosed, I'm sure it'll be different in its final state, but some things, like the removal of classes isn't great.

Yeah I'm sure I heard him refer to Dice needing to fix things in the month between the beta and launch though too. Maybe he's confused, or maybe I am.

The Battlefield BETAs are always just ****ed, it's why I tend to avoid, remember BF3 and the beta was Metro, very rough, game though when it was up and running was amazing.

Some "known leaker" is saying the BETA wasn't on a build as old as DICE/EA claim.
I saw that. Apparently it was only like a mid-September build.

My biggest concern really is this specialist crap. In the same article I read the above in, management wanted to copy Modern Warfare/Rainbow 6 and add in all these specialist characters rather than the classes. It's garbage and it's not Battlefield. You can't even tell who's on your team. I feel like that's going to be a deal breaker for me.
