Assuming all is correct JC and L/Wood are cleared in to the KDFL that will surely be the end of the district league will it not.
G'day Slim
Actually the Benalla Footy was on it's last legs when Devenish paid ex All Blacks players for glory then took their premierships and went home. BMatter of fact we old Redleggers always say that we sent the Benalla All Blacks packing out of the Benalla League after 1977 when we were underdogs and beat them by 10 goals. The Blacks still haven't recovered after 31 years. Maybe it might be the end of Benalla Footy League but the "dissn'" we at Longwood have received over the years means the care factor has "dissed"appeared!

...
Benalla Football League will have a delegates meeting; under the control of the VCFL at Benalla this Monday night 10-Nov08 to accept or deny Longwood’s application to move to the Kyabram and District Football League.

More history to come in the near future Red Rodger Dodger!
That’s now Over Rodger and Out!!

Clearance was refused but I'm sure that JC will have all the info
Clearance refused. Appeal to be heard by VCFL in three weeks.
Other Club delegates claimed, amongst other things that there was not enough time to consider...??
Apart from the three weeks since the application to join the KDFL was also forwarded to the Benalla League, Longwood emphasised at a delegates meeting in March 2008 that the League's agreement to pursue the O&K's offer to join should be pursued with vigour.
The Redlegs knew then that if we stayed as a 5 team league Longwood would lose the Club all together. That is why the committee, members and supporters voted unanymously at the AGM at the start of October to apply to KDFL.
Apparently the BDFL are rueing the days of procrastination leading up to the O&K's withdrawal of the invite.

More history to come in three weeks.
