The Athletic’s Zac Jackson said the Browns’ passing game has been “completely unimpressive” thus far in training camp.

As Jackson notes in his article, “Anything that involves Deshaun Watson remaining in the pocket has been an adventure, and not since early in camp have we seen a string of consecutive completions in any 11-on-11 period.” He goes on to highlight an overall lack of consistency and pass attempts of “more than 10 yards downfield” as reasons the Browns of underwhelmed through the air thus far. With a little more than three weeks to go until the regular season, the Browns have time to get things straightened out. Some of the camp struggles could be due to Amari Cooper practicing on a limited basis and Elijah Moore missing a few days recovering from a rib injury, but this all sounds mildly concerning. Watson underwhelmed in an abbreviated 2022 season after returning from suspension, but there are few acceptable excuses for any struggles this season. He’s currently going as a low-end QB1 in drafts, while Cooper is being drafted as a mid-WR2. Both run the risk of being fantasy busts if these camp struggles carry into the regular season

Coach Kevin Stefanski confirmed Thursday that Josh Dobbs will open the coming season as the Browns' No. 2 QB, Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports.

With Kellen Mond having been waived Thursday, 2023 fifth-rounder Dorian Thompson-Robinson slots in as the team's QB3 ahead of Week 1. Dobbs is thus next in line for regular season signal-caller reps in the event that starter Deshaun Watson misses any time.

so he doesn't want to play when he is medically cleared but wants to play when he medically isn't cleared?

This trade/contract was always going to be an absolute disaster

The funniest thing is that the Texans still have draft capital from this trade that they still haven't used

This trade could realistically help turn the Texans into a juggernut. Surely if they use the 2 1sts and 2 3rds well this year they are going to be a super attractive option to FA's with a young star QB, young weapons and no state income tax for potential signings

It’ll just be restructured indefinitely. Salary cap and cash spending is the one thing we do better than most. Whether someone agrees with the trade cost is another thing, but the contract isn’t the issue most think it is.

Texans dont have their own first and third this year, traded it to Arizona to move up for Anderson.

yep, forgot about that

In retrospect that trade is looking very good with how they are currently positioned

I thought they paid far too much for Anderson on draft night, but now Stroud is who he is and their pick will be mid/late teens at worst it looks perfectly fine

Just finished watching a replay of the Browns v. Jags game

Hoping to get Ameciacan Crows thoughts on the game against the Jags as he was there in person.

How did the linebackers perform ?

How do you think JOK played ?

Do you think Christian is playing the left Tackle position as well as Jedrick Wills ?

Linebackers were alright, Jacksonville became pretty one dimensional

I really do not like JOK but he had an okay game. He remains undersized and it is a real problem against the upper echelon teams (Jacksonville is not a top team in my opinion)

Christian certainly hasn’t played worse than Wills, that is for sure.

Line as pieced together as it is—did a good job

"Stands up, adjusts collar nervously"

Ahem, I would like to say this, THE BROWNS ARE IN THE PLAYOFFS !

In addition I would like to say THE BROWNS ARE IN THE PLAYOFFS FOR THE SECOND TIME IN FOUR YEARS !

and finally I would just like to say one more word at this time, FLACCO !

"sits down, heartbeat racing furiously""

:)
