Both are good, strong albums although I wouldn't say that NGD was a typical Simple Minds album. Personally, I haven't liked anything released by either band before or after.
Surely The Church's Starfish is their definitive album. I thought Heyday was their best.
I grew up with Californication and its full of epic tracks, for me BSSM hasn't held up as well but is still a very good album.Surely this is the Chilli Peppers Definitive album?

That would make it your favourite, but BSSM is definitely their definitive album, thoughCalifornication probably next. Likewise Smash is Offspring's definitive album by the length of the Flemington Straight.I grew up with Californication and its full of epic tracks, for me BSSM hasn't held up as well but is still a very good album.
