He needs to spend roughly 36-40% forward to obtain DPP?

Only 12 centre bounce attendances tonight (21 in total for the game), from what I saw he started the rest at half forward.

do that base it off where a player starts at bounces?

Yep, so possession heat maps are basically irrelevant
This aspect of the game has never been clear to me.

That to me reads like Champion Data have some secret sauce formula that combines a players in-gameplay positioning on field (ie the bit decided by the heatmaps) with where they line up at centre bounces to determine their position for the purposes of deciding DPP.

Have I misunderstood?

You could be right. I'm just basing it off what folks say on this thread (that only centre bounce positions factor) but perhaps not the most reliable source?

He will be. Was sitting at 40% prior to game. Not a lot of CBA’s last night.

DPP going to be so handy as a Macrae owner.
Macrae had 54% CBAs last night. Highest amount since round 5.
