This week, our fabulous forward rye notches up match number 50. Joining the club in season 34, rye won the krisholio Rising Star and last season won the Golden Boot and the Ninty2Winty. Not only was rye the best forward at the club last season, they were BY FAR the superior forward pocket in the league last season. Not only are they a good player, but rye is also a good poster.

Congrats on 50 games and may there be many more here at the Gumbies.




In addition, DinoSoar will make their debut of what we hope will be a fruitful career. They become Gumbies FFC player number 287.

We burst out of the blocks in our first match of season 36, jumping to a 5 goal lead in the second quarter putting to rest fears of a premiership hangover. Or did we? From there, we were dominated in all facets by the Bears who were fantastic running out big winners. rye did their job in their 50th with 3.2 from full forward with nobbyiscool and cats_09 also doing their best in the tough conditions. It was a struggle for the rest of us though- welcome to the sim DinoSoar!

While the match-up was a bit of a side-show, it could be argued that Brick Loosener had the better game against Art Vandelay_ - although there was very little in it. - 95m from 1 to 96.

In a comparatively small-fry arm wrestle, Dingster and Barrybran were hard to separate - though Dingster was slightly more effective. - 91m from 7 to 98.

In contrast to last week where we burst out of the blocks, our start was very lethargic until cats_09, beez and Chat Pile got us back into the contest by quarter time. From there, we kept the Furies at arms length on route to a nice victory. Most of us got solid to good stats from the sim and won our match ups, although Chat Pile can feel hard done by despite the good stats as he looked set for 11 goals before the sim benched him (and then returned him to the field in the back pocket!)​

Season Stats:

cats_09 is off to a flier and is in fantastic form. Chat Pile and rye continuing on from last season by having a close battle for the golden boot. Aucklander scoring their first points since season 35 was also good to see.

Thanks mate, glad to come back to Gumbania, my true home really... feels like forever and I've missed every moment of it. Big season ahead for the team and I'm looking forward to every weekend (might even make some more posts???)
