JOHNSON RE-SIGNS WITH THE BOMBERS
Wednesday, 4 February 2004

Essendon best and fairest winner Jason Johnson will call Windy Hill home for a further three years. The mid-fielder just signed a two-year contract extension that will see him through until the end of the 2006 season. The 26-year-old couldn't be happier to secure his playing future with the Bombers for the next three years. "It is fantastic to get the contract extension out of the way and focus on the season ahead. We have a great playing group at the club at moment and the feeling around the place is really positive heading towards Round 1," Johnson said.

Johnson has played 110 games with the Bombers after debuting in 1997. The former Calder Cannons player was drafted at selection 28 at the 1996 National AFL Draft. Johnson's playing honours include: best and fairest in 2001, second best and fairest 2002, third best and fairest 2003, All-Australian 2001, AFL Rising Star nominee 1998, premiership side 2000 and pre-season premiership side 2000.

Great news for us! Well done Jason.
