Nathan Grima retires

Will probably get a few "north board" comments. But his attitude typified what every afl players should be.

Absolutely desperate to play at the top level and never let anything hold him back (no pun intended) .

Was horrible seeing him in so much pain on the half time show 2 months back and how he would shut himself in his room in tears over the pain and the prospect he may never play again.

Thank you Narni

That's unfortunate. Never was going to be a great player, but a good solid defender who could've given some good years to the league if his body cooperated.

Bad luck to Nathan, a really underrated player who was cruelled by injuries. To battle through 86 games in 8 years is a real test of character and resilience
Kicked his only goal against essendon, was a great moment.

Shame. Gave it his best. At least commentators won't butcher the pronunciation of his name anymore.

It's a Southern European (Maltese) 'i' so it should be.......'Gree-mah'. Not Gry-mah.

A bit how some used to pronounce Mon-tag-na phonetically too. how do they pronounce Lasagna?
He pronounces it Gry-mah.

So you don't remember when he towelled Nick Riewoldt up back in 2012?

10 possessions and a goal?

sounds like Drew Petrie's career

it would have been nice for Grima to pass the 100 mark

After pushing through 8 years of pain and injury torture.
And big footy still seems to belittle a retiring player
Top draw. Top draw......

Unlucky Narni, will be missed at North if he moves away.
Will have a great media career, or at the least a booming landscaping business.

Shame, will be great post-footy in the media. Should be asked to slot straight into The Run Home on SEN - has great chemistry with Ox and Mark

Sad news, had some rotten luck in his last few seasons it seems.

Will be missed by North, seems like he is one of those type of blokes every footy club needs..

You trying to tell him how to pronounce his own name?

Is he a business partner with Deledio?
