Pretty indicative of the sort of bloke/player Nick is when almost every Swans fan is wishing him the best while still being gutted at his departure.

this. shattered he is gone but he has been a great servant of our club and most of us can understand his reasons for leaving. you guys wont hear any booing from the swans fans when we play. congrats on a good get and i hope he helps you get to some finals next year.

No wonder he chose us.. Sydney were only offering 350k a season to our 500k plus a coaching gig post playing career..
Money must be really tight over at the swans after getting tippett and franklin

the third year was the killer. it will be right at the peak of Buddy's contract and we also have quite a few required players coming out of contract over the next two years.

Great pickup for you guys. One of the best users of the football in the league and over the past couple of seasons has also added a real defensive physicality and hardness to his game as well.

Gutted to see him go but hard to begrudge him the opportunity.

Send his beard back to Sydney when you're done with him.

People saying he is too old, is 30 and just had one of his best seasons to date. Hard body with a good head on his shoulders and an elite kick, can't play kids forever, we need his experience to move forward now, invaluable knowledge will be passed onto the likes of Lemmens, McKenzie and Kade.

For sure..... great get by us We need experienced guys like this . We already have an abundance of talented developing youth.

Wishing Mal all the best, a sentimental favourite after the "06 then 3 knees then 2012" story, but it wasn't just that; he gave us 100% heart and soul every time he played in the red & white, that doesn't go unnoticed.
Will miss him constantly sinking snaps from 12 rows back and his long hoofs from HB to HF cutting the opposition to ribbons.
Best of luck to him at the GC, I hope he goes well, but when we play you next year the fellas will know to force him onto his right foot ;)

According to this "expert", we've made a dreadful mistake signing Nick

...Gold Coast are idiots. They were handed the keys to the kingdom, but they have blown it. Unless they make a run to next year's Grand Final, I can't see how Malceski is going to help them win a flag. His pay packet is going to look awfully big in a couple of years time when a few more of their young guns decide to leave... I'm just having a laugh at the AFL, Gold Cost and Bollox.

That's just a small snippet of his rant. It will feel so good to be wiping the smiles off the faces of these smug opposition supporters in a couple of years.

Even though technically not a trade, let's hope this is the start of a good trade week relationship between the clubs.

We'll have established players like Mal becoming available due to salary cap restraints, and you'll have younger good picks not getting games who may be looking for a fresh start.

And is it too early to have a trophy for our games? The Esky Cup? The Bearded Badge? :)

In 2 years it will either look like a master stroke or a disaster. I am betting on Clayton to of got this one right
