If I owned Wycombe I'd lease it back to them then I'd be a smart arse and schedule maintenance and safety checks the week they played Reading so they can't train all week.

From the owners point of view?

Wycombe have done nothing wrong here.
No more from Reading point of view. What's happened there (from my limited knowledge) seems awful, and all these rules purportedly designed to safeguard clubs don't seem to be doing much of that with Reading.
 
For what it's worth, Wycombe had to sell their training ground about ten years ago and have been leasing it ever since. I know the current owners of the club have talked about wanting to do something about the poor state of Marlow Road for a while, so given they were approached about a pretty new facility just down the road, I'm not surprised they jumped at it, especially if the reports about it being sold below market value are true.
