Peter Mac calling

Hi guys,

I'm doing The Ride to Conquer Cancer benifiting Peter Mac. If you are unfamiliar with Peter Mac (Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre), it is Australia's only public hospital with a sole focus on cancer. I'm participating because I happen to be a researcher there, and within our department we have formed a team called BikePATH.

So, as a participant, I need to raise $2,500 to get to ride along a 100km route from Albert Park to Healesville, camp for the night, and then ride the 100km back on the next day at the end of October. It sounds scary, but it's for a good cause so I'm happy to do it.

So, it's less than two months away, and some of our team (including me) are well short of the target required to be able to do the ride. So, if you'd like to help out, you can check out our webpage at http://bit.ly/bikePATH and my personal page at http://bit.ly/Vn39qg. Every little bit counts, so even if you can only make a small donation, that would still be great.

Cheers.

It was a lot of hard work; there were some pretty nasty hills to climb, but it was great. We raised $6.2 million for Peter Mac, which is a fantastic effort. I'm at home now, in bed, even though it's 8:15. It feels like midnight! I think I'm going to have some sore legs tomorrow.

Special praise has to go to the riders who participated and are cancer survivors (you may have seen some bikes with a tall yellow flag). They are a great inspiration.
