Marshall was s**t

He was not great but he was the only key forward who lead at the ball and took marks, which in turn led to goals.

Mitch, Dixon and Finlayson were miles worse.

Nah rubbish.

Our gameplan clearly hampers kfs and makes them work harder for less, and Todd performed and made something out of very little. Some good marks , kicked 1 goal and 3 goal assists. Arguably in the 4-8 range for best players for us (jhf butters and Houston clear best , can argue who the next group were but Todd is definitely in the next group of 5).

We don’t come close to winning that without him.

We should not be this inconsistent 12 years into a coaches tenure......we were abysmal for most of the day, ball use was poor, dropping marks, no real dash or structure moving forward.

I sit on the scoreboard side 50m arc, at one point Burton was caught 10m off his opponent, the ball looked to be heading out, burton started jogging, the ball stayed in, his opponent collected and took off......this sort of shite has been happening with him for weeks, he absolutely has to be dropped, if he is injured, why is he still putting his hand up to play?

Having said all that, what a win in the end, I was as negative and pi55ed as anyone for most of the game, but ya just can't help but carry on a bit with a win like that.

JHF and Butters were unreal, credit to us for sticking it out, but real signs that we are not upto it this year (again).

this is why he should have been named captain. jhf and butters the only ones in our team who can have a shit game but play out of thier skin in the 4th quartar

WoW . What a finnish. Out played for 95% of the game , we struggle against really hard running teams and the Hawks were that . They went defensive way too early though , even milking the clock at the end of the third quarter and all of the last .
They won the ruck and were too intense around the ball for us . Luckily we had JHF , he kept us in it - just .
Dixon , Finlayson and in particular Georgiades gave nothing .
To win was great but a disappointing game for the most part , I hope we can do better than that . Credit to Hawthorn early , they’d be spewing they lost .
JHF , Butters , Houston , Burgoyne , Farrell, Boak , Mead were decent , Marshall , Allir and Drew , ok but a few passengers today

We struggle big time when Butters, JHF and even Rozee don’t have big games. Today, Butters and JHF were Port’s most damaging players. We look like a better team when they’re on top. We can look quite pedestrian when they’re kept out of the game
