I’ll be optimistic on availability:
Out: Long; In: Waterman
Out: Brockman; In: Ryan
Out: Owies; In: Petruccelle (maybe not on this one actually - Owies front half pressure is pretty good)
Out: B.Williams; In: Flynn
Out: Cole; In: B.Allan
Out: Hunt; In: Edwards
Out: Davis; In: Johnston

Probably a bit tall but our smalls aren’t exactly applying a lot of pressure anyway.

No to Jwilliams. He hasn't done anything wrong to be dropped.
If Waterman comes in it should be between Areid or Allen.
I know Archer is showing good signs but he needs to go back to the Beagles and sort out his goal kicking.
Jwilliams is needed as second ruck and we know he needs few chances as his goal kicking is rock solid
I don't like the idea of sending Allen to the backline i don't think he can defend.
Would be useless in the backline.

Tough, 6 day brea vs 9.

We can’t lose this week no matter what happens. If we win, it’s a win, if we lose, media can stop talking how hawks have a pick 3 to trade for Reid.

3/4 we played are sitting top 4. Fremantle many had top 4. Fixture did us no favours this year. Still doesn’t excuse Duggan giving up.

Out long, Cole
In petch, Allan

Cole -> Allan
Long -> Ryan
Hunt -> Johnston

and unfortunately
JWilliams -> Waterman if fit

Give Hewett 1 week in the WAFL is hes fit, then try to get him back in for round 6, or potentially drop Davis for Hewett and use one of Gross/Hewett/Hall as sub to manage minutes a bit

Im giving Brock another go, and I think we are tall enough in our d50 to handle Carlton especially if Mckay doesnt play this week.
Allen doesnt go anywhere, he still has a role in teh F50

In: Waterman (if fit), Ryan and Johnston
Out: Long, Owies and Hunt

Hewett injury unknown and maybe give him a full game in the wafl.

Loved Long debut year but he is doing nothing to earn a spot at the moment.

Owies/Brockman is a line ball but I've seen more from brockman season overall (I don't really care too much though).

Hunt at least tried in the derby but he's not offering a lot and I'm happy to promote other players over him.

Waterman papers over how bad our inside 50s are. Ryan is obvious as our best small. Johnston I want off wing/half back - good user and has impressed me very since arriving.

Allen to defence so we can have Waterman/JWilliams/AReid up fwd. Allen is being completely out shadowed up forward. I've come to terms we ain't dropping him or Kelly so at least move em around. Davis given a full game.

FB: Maric, Brock, Hough
HB: H.Reid, Allen, Ginbey
C: Dewar, Gross, Johnston
HF: Cripps, Waterman, Graham
FF: Ryan, A.Reid, J.Williams

R: B.Williams, Hall, Baker

I: Cole, Kelly, Duggan, Davis

Sub: Brockman

Edit - Had to edit as I forgot Graham - bit like he forgot the first half against GWS.

For those that want Bo Allan, I recommend going to watch the WAFL matches.
You want baker out because he can't hit the side of a barn, well same goes for Allan at the moment.
He needs more development time.

Yeah Allan's game this weekend was very scrappy. I'd be bringing in HJ over Allan, wasn't dominant but very solid and just feel like his game will translate pretty effectively to AFL.

Carlton’s tall forwards, Carlton’s midfield vs WC midfield. This could get ugly.
Just keep playing the kids, I’d like to see Allen and Greggo debuting before too long.

I'd prefer to leave AReid in the side and give him goal kicking homework on the training track.

This will allow him to further develop his craft of being a key forward against men and also allows the smalls to synergise with him. More value to us in than out of the team for mine.

*Carlton were 7 goals up v Richmond
*Carlton were within a goal of Hawthorn at 3qtr time
*Carlton were 4 goals up v WBulldogs
*Carlton were leading Collingwood at half time

Yes they haven't got the chocolates but they've been well and truly in games v good opposition.
