Qox Sports presents "Match Thread with Kermit Brereton and Eddie Mogwaire"

LAST TIME THEY PLAYED: Alberton Swamprats : 15.6.96 DEF BY
Mt Buller Demons : 16.10.106 (S17 Round 11)
MATCH PREVIEW: Last time these two teams played the Demons were flying high and the Swamprats were building a spoon cabinet. It was a close encounter still and one that was highly controversial, despite an amended team submission for the Rats not making the sim cut and an eventual close result, league admin Boncer34 decreed the result stood, a result that may have delivered the wooden spoon to the Swamprats.
Fast forward to today and not much has changed for the Rats although they are still in the hunt (despite very poor percentage). The Demons however have hit a little rut with consecutive losses seeing them drop five spots down the ladder back into the pack and with the desperate need to arrest the slide. At this stage of a season a lot is on the line in most games but in this one it rings truer- one team may get one step closer to a finals tilt while the other can freefall with a mangy parachute.

IN FORM:
SWAMPRATS: Noobz0r and spookism were huge last week and are forming a fairly dynamic ruck and mid combination. MannumPower is fresh off a five goal haul and maybe eyeing up the leaky Demons defence.
DEMONS: lanky_wes was the only Demon to really hold his head high last week and is on track for another Mobbs medal. HawkPatrol was valiant in the ruck and Eth played a fair captains game.
PREDICTION: Both teams have huge incentive but both are also coming off fairly sizeable losses. A genuine flip of the coin so… SWAMPRATS IN A CLOSE ONE BY 5 POINTS.

Teams must be submitted by Friday 11.59pm.

The Demons would like everyone to observe a minutes silence for the great Robin Williams. :(
That is a great idea.

Lets bounce back here with a strong win Demons, I'm ready to breathe fire after a disappointing effort by me last week.

Yup RIP Mr. Williams - truly a ******* funny man.

But we move on and we look forward to beating the Demons at home this week.

Looking forward to seeing Ant Bear , I_Dont_Care , Noobz0r , MannumPower and Power Raid continue there good form as we look to atone for last week.

Early polling shows that this game is just too close to call.

While Alberton has experienced a record cold spell the lack of recent rain has resulted in the swamp being rated as a scale 1, hard and dry. It is yet to been seen what effect training in such conditions will have on the Swamprats. Emergency beer supplies are having to be freighted into Alberton from as far afield as Queenstown to slake the thirst of the hard training Swamprats. The Swamprats meet the Demons at a time when the ski season is in full swing and there are sugeestions that the Demons may be more focused on the apres game party than the game itself. :drunk:

Time will tell if the Demons can handle the off piste conditions at Alberton.

The Swamprats now hold a commanding lead in the polls with a landslide victory now clearly on the cards. Analysts have said that the polling system can be exploited by taking advantage of lazy, confused, careless and apathetic players who are more interested in the snow season at this time of year than Qooty. This would certainly appear to be the case among Demons' players whose player turn out to date has left much to be desired.

And if you're sailing your ship across a line in the sand, I fancy out chances!
It's a land ship.... gosh!

Also, expect 20 positional changes this week.
